Very wrong. There is an existing judgement from Zamfara high court ordering INEC to accept the APC candidates that emerged from the Yari faction of the party. The judgement affirmed the valid primaries were conducted. INEC refused to obey the judgement because they claim the federal high court gave a contradictory judgement to the Zamfara high court judgement. Now that the appeal court had set aside the judgement of the federal high court, INEC has no other option than to obey the judgement of the Zamfara high court.

ok.

Now somebody should tell me why this Buhari is not the brain behind this election postponement all along.

People lost immeasurable funds and some even lost their lives due to the postponement. For what exactly? Just to have zamfara votes?

This evil must be voted out forthwith...

We must all Atikulate
how's that one now your problem...

Sowore like his supporters were actually fooling themselves cos sane minds saw through their gimmicks..

Only brainwashed elements still support the terrorist organization called APC.
Only unpatriotic elements still support PDP after they've eaten the destinies of next generation by their greed and inordinate ambition for wealth and material things.

So pdpigz in zamfara has been praying and fasting for apc not to be allowed to contest? Is it because they know they can't win?

Don't mind them. Nairalanders commenting against this remind me of cheats in foootall who start rolling around on the floor pretending to be in pain only to get up and insist referee gives a red card so his team can have an unfair advantage. Upright people don't do that. They want to win fairly and against the best at their full strength. INEC was just being unfair because APC explained they had a consensus agreement in place which is valid in politics also as against primaries

When have you heard of one of the two candidates in two main Party democracies worldwide (UK, USA et al) being prevented from contesting elections? Would it then still be an election when such happens given that the electoral authority has gifted a 100% sure win to one main Party and disenfranchised the other and thus the people?

If ignorant PDP fans understand that democratic politics is about the will of the people then they won't support this yeye disqualification. Yet they are cheats happy to win anyway possible.

Buhari really succeeded in turning Apc into an anti-democratic Party. If a ruling doesn’t favor them, they boycott due process and manipulate the system.

Good Development....

Here is a brief background to the Zamfara APC case..

Recall that INEC had declined to accept APC candidates in Zamfara because, according to the commission, the party failed to meet the deadline for holding primaries.

This gave rise to two different Court litigations. One at Zamfara State High Court while the second one was at FCT High Court Abuja.

On 25th of January 2019 precisely, the two courts issued conflicting rulings on whether the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) can accept candidates presented by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Zamfara State elections in 2019.

In Zamfara State, a High Court sitting in Gusau, ruled that the governing APC actually conducted primaries in the state and should be allowed to present candidates for electoral contest.

An Abuja court, however, ruled otherwise.

The Zamfara court specifically directed INEC to accept candidates from the party for Zamfara States in the forthcoming elections.

https://www.nairaland.com/4983785/two-courts-issue-conflicting-judgments

Based on the above, I summarize as follows:

1. A High Court in Zamfara gave a judgement, ordering INEC to reverse its decision to ban APC from fielding its candidates.

2. A Federal High Court in Abuja same day gave a judgment ordering INEC not to accept the APC candidates.

3. INEC for reasons best known to it choose to obey the Abuja high court Judgement while ignoring the one given by the Zamfara state high Court.

https://www.nairaland.com/4994271/jubilation-zamfara-inec-removes-apc

4. However, the Appeal Court in Abuja yesterday set aside the judgement of the Federal high court Abuja which ruled that INEC acted within its powers by refusing to accept the list of candidates from the Zamfara State chapter of the APC.

https://www.nairaland.com/5038510/court-appeal-clears-zamfara-apc

5. In setting aside the Abuja judgement, the appeal court gave two major reasons......First they said the Abuja suit was filled out of time, the same reason that killed the chances of APC in Rivers. Secondly, they said the Abuja suit was an abuse of court process that it should not have been entertained in first place since a similar suit was already subsisting in Zamfara State high Court....

6. Thus from the forgoing, the only remaining judgement is the Zamfara State high court judgement that specifically asked INEC to allow APC Zamfara to field its candidate which up till today has not been appealed or Upturned. So, the APC Zamfara candidates are cleared now for the elections.

Good..this is the first time I am getting a clear picture of the Zamfara APC matter

Bihari must go.
Which due process did buhari manipulate in this case?

An issue was been tried in zamfara high court and yet a high court in Abuja went and took the same case already been tried in zamfara even after the period to accept such case had expired. That Abuja high court has abused court processes by taking the case already in court after the acceptance window had expired.

That is a simple case and the appeal court has rightly set aside the judgement of the Abuja court for abuse of court process.

This is a straightforward case.
