According to reports from local radio, election materials have been seized at Ward 4 and Ward 12 of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State amidst heavy shooting.

Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi’s Ubima Community is in Ward 4. Report has it that the brouhaha started just after the Minister left the Polling Unit where he cast his vote.

When asked to confirm and shed more light on the incident, an aide to the Minister responded, “I just got that”.

Mr Amaechi is not the only prominent politician from the area. Celestine Omehia, a former Governor and PDP leader, is also from there.
