The difference is that NOUN is the name of a person, Animal, place or thing. In other words it's a "name" of a quick certificate for already employed people who got employed with a lesser qualification but wants to advance in career for better earnings and positions. Other Universities are verbs. They are the functional certificates you can use as a fresh employee to get employment. In practice no employer takes fresh employees with Noun certificates serious. 135 Likes 6 Shares |

Youngbbt: What sort of question is that? An NUC accredited, federal university? One thing about studying abroad is that once you leave Nigeria, all these nonsense about someone went to unilag, unn, ui etc, doesn't concern anyone. Its only on a local level that people can brag. Outside the shores of this country it's all about what you have upstairs. But weigh your options. If u know u want a regular degree, I advise you go for a part time or full time program in a regular uni. NOUN is more ideal if you're actually working, but no one can discriminate against you if you don't discriminate against yourself. 114 Likes 9 Shares |

Dottore: If you have the right grades and skills set, employers will romance your NOUN degree. No employer will employ a 2:2 holder or 3rd class from a regular university where someone with a 2:1 from NOUN is. If you develop yourself outside the four walls of the university by taking professional courses, as a Noun graduate, you would have acquired more... But that's for those who are smart. 6 Likes |

Youngbbt:Many employers still discriminate because of stereotyping. Many believe that graduate from conventional universities are better off. They forget that the standard of examination questions isn't different from many conventional schools. Students from Noun study like conventional counterpart hence they plan their study time table instead of rushing to a lecture hall that wouldn't accommodate many students. Certificate are the same except for the fact it is a open university. Durations of program are the same with their conventional counterpart but the mentality of many employers valuing certificate more than skills is what is killing many organizations in Nigeria. Until we have strict laws in place to curb this menace, many employers will continue to discriminate graduate from NOUN. To me I see no difference. Many employers are hypocritical to employ someone with open university certificate from abroad that ours 6 Likes 1 Share |
