Sony Mobile unveiled its new flagship Android smartphone named Xperia 1 at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2019 event with two other mid-rangers tagged Xperia 10 and 10 Plus. This latest smartphone features an ultra-tall 21:9 CinemaWide display. The device is also the world’s first 4K OLED Android smartphone.

Sony Mobile is taking the smartphone industry to a whole new level with its latest Xperia 1 which has entertainment and content creation as the major focus. You think Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is tall? Wait until you see this smartphone, then you can be the judge to that. Not only does Xperia 1 features a 6.5-inches (3840 x 1644) 4K OLED display, it also uses a 21:9 aspect ratio. With the CinemaWide display, you can watch your favorite movies, TV shows reproduced in pro-level colour accuracy using the “creator mode”. For lovers of good quality video entertainment and rugged content creation, Xperia 1 is rightly suited for you.

This is why Mitsuya Kishida, President, Sony Mobile Communications, said in a statement about the latest Xperia Android smartphones and I quote "We have established a new vision for our Xperia brand to bring our customers experiences beyond imagination". "We are continuing to push the boundaries in pursuit of innovation and our new Xperia delivers genuine technologies with a multitude of professional-grade features for creative entertainment experiences that are only possible with Sony."

Sony Xperia 1 Camera

Sony Xperia 1 also packs a triple 12MP + 12MP + 12MP rear camera setup that offers 2X optical zoom and very fast Eye Auto Focus. The rear cameras are designed in collaboration with expert engineers from Sony’s digital cinema camera division called CineAlta to offer the best quality cameras that can take high-quality photographs. The cameras are armed with a noise reduction and an Optical SteadyShot technology that can stabilize the sensor to resist shakes while taking a shot at an object on the move.

The front comes with an 8MP shooter that is also armed with SteadyShot technology for video and photo shot stabilization. The front shooter also features portrait selfie effects, 3D creator and a display flash for high quality selfie shots and video content creation.

Sony Xperia 1 Performance and Battery
Sony Xperia 1 runs on Android 9.0(Pie) with the latest Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, tagging along with a 6GB of RAM for optimal performance. The device also features 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.

As far as power is concerned, the Xperia 1 Android smartphone is powered by a 3,330mAh battery. The battery capacity is fair but not good enough, considering the fact that the smartphone is tailored towards entertainment lovers and content creators. More power should have been given to the device to match-up with the performance. Probably, Sony intends releasing an upgrade in the future.

Sony Xperia 1 Expected Price and Availability
An official statement on the price of Xperia 1 has not been given by the company but a recent report from CNBC suggests that the price will start at EUR 799 (roughly Rs. 74,200). The Android smartphone will go on sale in the US from late Spring in Black and Purple colour options. The new model in the global markets will get Black, Grey, Purple, and White colour options.

Phones are getting more amazing with every release.
Why are companies still trying their hand with 21:9 screens?
That thing was cute in prototype phones but users don't really care.
What is the benefit of an OLED display?
I'm off to google search.

4k is kinda useless unless the video format is 4k...kinda like with ps4 pro...if you dont have a 4k tv..its just the same as a normal ps4..
