Another thing many ignorant Nigerians believe is that being landlocked is the same as having no access to the sea. This is far from the truth.

London is a landlocked city but London controls more than 65% of the entire export/import business of the UK as a whole. The River Thames runs through London and has several River ports along it. More ships and goods sail through landlocked London than places that have shoreline and sea ports

So despite not having a shoreline, cities like Onitsha, Oguta and Azumini could all function very well as River ports and full access to the sea.
