In February 2016, a group of Biafran protesters gathered at the football field of National High School, Aba(NHSA), to protest the continued detention of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. The protesters were praying, singing and dancing in the School field when a detachment of Police and Army units stormed into the School. While the Police were more diplomatic about how to disperse the protesters, the Nigerian Soldiers immediately took firing positions and aimed their guns at the unarmed peaceful protesters. The protesters were wondering what they had done wrong when all they were doing was singing and praying in the School field.

What happend next was tragedy. While the Police shot tear gas to disperse people, the Soldiers opened fire into the crowd. In the two videos below, the first link shows the 8 minute video clip of the Soldiers shooting unarmed people fleeing for their lives. The second link is a longer video which shows the protesters before the attack, during the attack and the aftermath as those who were shot lay dying in hospital.

The question is, Why would a Soldier shoot an unarmed person who is only praying?. This is murder

Life is cheap in Nigeria, but let us remember those who have fallen to military brutality and extra-judicial executions
