This tread is very educating. The poster also appears quite experienced and professional. In all, how much is estimated to complete this 4 bedroom bungalow?

@muyi002
1. What is the thickness of your blinding?
2. Were all the materials purchased for blinding used or there were leftovers?
3. What is the size of your soakaway?
4. How many trips of laterite did you buy and what is the size of the tipper?
5. I suspect a foul play in the cement usage.
(88bags to this level?)
6. Labour is cheaper in your location, why did you spend more on this?
7. I cannot see the wire mesh and the Labour for the blinding

Many thanks Segzy,
See below answers
1. What is the thickness of your blinding? This varies due land topography. The thickness of the blinding is between 6 to 12 inches
2. Were all the materials purchased for blinding used or there were leftovers? As at now I have leftovers of granite, close to 6 tonnes and sharp sand of about 4 tonnes
3. What is the size of your soakaway? Size is 12ft by 8ft by 8ft deep - see pic attached
4. How many trips of laterite did you buy and what is the size of the tipper? 10 Mack's of 25 tonnes of laterite @ 28k each plus additional 15 tonnes
5. I suspect a foul play in the cement usage.
(88bags to this level?) I monitored the use of 30 bags for blinding and no Stealing, I partially monitors cement use at setting blocks for foundation but lost count of 6 bags at a point cement for half DPC was also monitored with no stealing.
6. Labour is cheaper in your location, why did you spend more on this? I don't understand how mean by spending more. Where was money more spent, kindly explain
7. I cannot see the wire mesh and the Labour for the blinding. The wire mesh was used for the half DPC and it's embedded. The total labour cost agreed was 180k and this covered digging, blinding and block setting to lintel level and for this purpose 80k has been paid

@muyi002, 150mm to 1foot is too much for blinding that was why it consumed too much cement.
Labour for laterite filling is much,4K per trip is fine.4k x11=44k not 70k
By the way, did you engage an engineer or it was DIY?

Good morning segzy and thanks for this thread.

One quick observation, no rod reinforcements was required until the lintel? Is that correct? You had no pillars?

Yes, there are no pillars and that was why we used headcourse but if are doing a parapet, you must use pillars.

Dear Segzy,
I honestly like you for what you are doing on this forum and topic.

I had engaged an engineer who advised at least 6 inches high is good for the blinding for a trench depth of 2feet (600mm).

As per the laterite, in terms of trip for you how many tonnes will be a trip as mine is 5 tonnes per trip and what i used was a big truck (Mack) which took 25 tonnes at a go.

However, does this have any adverse effect on building (i mean the blinding at that height)?

No adverse effect on the building but adverse effect on the cement and sand. Lol.

The total area is 190sqm.
The cost of POP is 3000/sqm x 190sqm= N570,000
While
For the PVC it depends on the type but I will make use of the China, which is 0.2mx 4m=0.8sqm x10numbers in a pack= 8sqm

190sqm/8sqm= 24pack@4900 per pack= N117,600
The small clip is N300/one.
