There is no benefit to the people, infact, it's a loss. A Senate president cannot introduce Bill's nor can he vote on them. The only person the Senate president benefits is the Senate president himself

Senate President gives his or her nuclear/larger constituency a sense of belonging as they see one their own in position of power and influence.

Senate President is in a position to attract, by direct influence or official lobby, strategic projects to his or her constituency.

Senate President has bigger share of the constituency project budget. Consequently, his or her constituency can benefit from direct interventions from the budget.

Senate President is often consulted by the Executive to nominate candidates from his or her constituency for offices and he or she also has the privilege of nominating candidates for employment in key public and private organizations as part of deliberate effort by such organizations to build good relationship with NASS given their oversight functions.

However, from our experience so far, the office of the Senate President has been all about personal acquisition of money in bank, real estate and exotic cars, maintaining the extravagant lifestyle of family members , undue use of power to intimidate political opponents, looking after their many female admirers, etc.
