The truth is that, WhatsApp cannot ban GBWhatsapp.

This is because the basic codding used in creating the apps is one and the same.
Those extra features you find in GBWHATSAPP don't really make any changes to to basic roots of the original WhatsApp.
So in this case, it would be impossible to dictate which is clone; unless they start collecting people's phones to check the type of whatsapp they are using.

Even though they have some cool features, I have always been against those apps. There are a few things i detest about it, like the users can actually set people not to be able to delete anything from them, even when u update ur status n delete it, they still see it for 24hrs, what if a kid mistakenly updated ur status with a picture that's meant to be private on ur fone n u noticed it n hurriedly deleted it, u still keep seeing people commenting on the pix...

Then ure chatting with someone, they go offline n u see 'last seen: December 2013' what's that nonsense?

When these third-party apps started out, WhatsApp used to ban users who installed them for 72hrs and upwards. After seeing that a sizeable number especially it's teeming youthful users had installed these apps, the ban stopped.
The reason WhatsApp has suddenly decided to resume banning users of modified WhatsApp app is because the company wants to launch adverts on WhatsApp. These modified apps can be easily made to block out these ads. WhatsApp is broke and needs a way out of it's financial crisis.

The clone version developers are and will always be one step ahead of WhatsApp.

Besides, how would they even know someone is using clone WhatsApp?

if you were a mobile app developer, you'd have known it's among the easiest things to detect.

They have their reasons why they stopped banning, and it has nothing to with clone developers being smart. Anyone can easily build on an existing android app especially if they don't have to bother about the server and concurrency.

As long as the clone apps use the same whatsapp server, they can be banned, unbanned and rebanned at will by the whatsapp team.

You can counter that using Privacy Settings. Besides, viewing a status is not stalking.

Brilliant post... someone was telling me to instal GB Whatsapp on my
mobile device as a better option to the mainstream Whatsapp but
