While I agree that the teacher should not have beaten the girl, some students can drive one to the point of no return. I’ve heard of a case where a student told his teacher she was a piece of shit. He was suspended for a really long time because it was a private school. What happens when there is no room for disciplinary measures?

Shut it already, Nigeria really has done a number on the thinking facilities of a lot of people. If you can attempt to justify this obvious physical assault. This is a JAMB tutorial centre for goodness sake. You're suppose to be preparing these students for the university. For God's sake accord them some respect. He could have simply asked her to excuse herself from the class and if he wanted to go extreme ask the lesson administrators to ask her to leave. Some of these people would have been undergraduates already save for JAMB irregularities and the problem of seeking admission in Nigerian public universities.
