Guy you are not talking to kids here. Ekwueme contested and lost the PDP ticket. Obasanjo was not given on a platter. If you want to be president, you have to contest. No one is appointing you president. If you feel inferior to contest then good luck backing a northerner. But SW will be contesting in 2023 against anybody. We are up to the task.
Lol, seems you are not grown yet as at 1999. FYI, In 1999, Obasanjo was fresh out of prison, broke and out of sync with the politics of that period. Ekwueme on the other hand has been active in politics and was the leader of the group G30 that formed PDP. Before the Jos primaries, the military leaders, notably IBB, Danjuma, Abubakar and others met and decided that Obasanjo should be supported massively to clinch the ticket of PDP based on 2 major grounds I.e 1. Because of the ill treatment that was meted out to Abiola and 2. Because they felt that Obasanjo was pro north based on how he supported Shagari in 1979 to win the presidential election against Awolowo his own brother.
As at 1999, the military hierarchy were still very much in control of the politics in Nigeria and largely determines who gets what.
I can assure you that north will rather decide to continue ruling indefinitely than allow the presidency to return to the SW any time soon.

You just wrote a whole lot of crap. PDP primary was in 1998 not 1999. Obasanjo contested against Ekwueme and won. He was not unopposed.

You can't assure me anything because you know nothing about politics.

Northern leaders are only wasting Nigeria life span, show me a good northern president in Nigeria and I will show you a saint in hell. The mineral and human resources of Nigeria are all in the south and Nigeria will never progress until they allow southerners to lead..

Which Tinubu? Whether Tinubu or Osinbajo, they are deceiving themselves. PDP zoning remains in the North and if APC zone its own to SW, then they will die a natural dead because the North will vote for their own

Are you aware that MKO Abiola(a yoruba) defeated Al Bashir Tofa(an hausa fulani)in the 1993 Presidential elections organized by IBB(an hausa)led Junta
Politics is dynamic. With the right alliance,A yoruba man will floor an hausa fulani in 2023.

You lied on this one. Yaradua was a good president from the north. Maybe you've not been born by that time.

I disagree with you. What was his achievements? And if after 45 yrs of northern presidency they could only provide two years of good leadership what are you now saying. Though I never agree that yaradua was a good leader, being critically sick and hanged on to power makes him a total failure.

What did the SW do to get the ticket in 1999? Seriously? To answer you; they contested.

No one is stopping you guys from contesting. Power rotation is between the north and south. When PDP and APC zoned their tickets to the north everybody from the north contested. It was not zoned to NW or NE. When PDP zoned its ticket to the South in 1999 obasanjo and ekwueme contested and obasanjo won.

In 2023 both parties will zone their ticket to the South. If igbos feel like they can't compete, the SS will get it. Wike will definitely get the PDP ticket.
pls You Yorubas should do whatever you want, We the greater south have made up our mind on what to do when the time comes. why are you all urgibg the South East to contest? Why disnt the West contest in 2011? Shey it was zoned to the South by ODP? Lol. do you make we do us.

Granted... Are Igbos the only ones in the South? What about Delta State, What about Cross River, What About Rivers State? Nobody has forgotten what happened in 2015... The South West need to leave that seat for any other region in the South even if they do not want Igbos... but fielding in SWer in 2023 is tantamount to greed and betrayal, despite the role of they played in ousting GEJ... Come on! nobody is foolish. Look at the Headline of this thread. Where are they proposing that the next president come from in 2023? NW, the current president is where? NE! but the Yorubas want to get it twice.... they should come and take it! If the North field in a Northerner in 2023, I bet you that the entire south, excluding SW will vote North.

Nobody should complain,The South West started this scheme Jonathan just left government arent those state you listed a south south state? Lol. Your just compared NE and NW and you forget all this list of state you mentioned is south south.
