The leader of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State and serving senator, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh rerun elections in the state.

He said there were no elections on Saturday in the state.

Mr Kwankwaso, who spoke on Saturday to journalists at his residence, condemned the alleged role of the police under the command of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), Anthony Micheal–Obizi, who he said provided back up for thugs to perpetrate violence and massive rigging.

He said the widespread violence and rigging of the supplementary polls took place in all the 28 local government areas affected by the rerun.

“It is very sad that elections could not hold today because, by yesterday evening, all the polling units in the rerun areas were overtaken by thugs. Very early morning today, elections were concluded in many polling centres.

It would seem the godfather of Kano politics is about to fail in his bid to install his in-law as governor, in an attempt to punish his erstwhile political god-son who dared to break free.

It such a shame that we found ourselves in such a mess. Both PDP and APC are responsible. It's a matter of who outsmart each other so neither APC nor PDP has the moral ground. My disappointment is more with the so called ordinary Nigerians who never benefit from either of these bunch of criminals parading themselves as politicians yet still be abusing each other in defence of these self centered politicians.

Thought you claimed to be strong with die hard supporters.How come your supporters took off at the mere sight of knives,sticks,cudgels and dane guns?
If your supporters were that many as u propagated and committed,they wud have resisted any form of intimidation and fought back.

I have searched for the usefulness of the "do or die", "Mr Fixer", and "electoral Iwuism" of PDP, and all I could find was epileptic electricity, broken refineries, boko haram, and IDPs who now vote massively for APC as a way to punish PDP for 16years of failure.
