Depending on the Training
I have a lhasa and whenever we are walking and other dogs attack he doesn't bark because i trained him not to
But his actions are worse than his bark. He is ready his choke his neck off his chain just to get a bite of that dog without barking.

It's called intimidation, your gsd is barking and charging at the person jus to intimidate and let the person know that he is there to bite him if he tries anything, I bet you if that person tries to kick or hit your dog, it will bite him. Also if he runs, your dog will chase after him and bite him, that is how alot of gsd dogs behave.

We brought in 3 boaboel puppies from SA. 1 male (Tiger) and 2 females (Bukky and Sugar). They were all brought within d same environment. Tiger and bukky were both aggressive from d get go, unlike sugar that was timid from 2 months, although she weighed more than the bukky and tiger. Bukky was so aggressive that till she died, tiger couldn't successfully mate with her. Besides, these are guard dogs and they ought to be aggressive and should have fierce barking, not a weeping dog.

Yes caging and chaining some dogs brings out the beast in them, because when they don't see any people, it makes them not to trust anybody, and also makes them more territorial too, I have seen it, people say its fear aggression but it is but I don't believe that nonsense, my own dogs are not scared of anybody, and they will bite anybody that messes with them or runs away from them, even loud noises don't scare them, it makes them bark more heavily.

I don't know why Nigerians don't like accepting something, do you think police dogs are chained throughout?. they are trained and socialised properly, having a dog that you cannot take on a walk freely or a dog that tries to attack other dogs or everyone isn't something you should be proud of.
no professional dog trainer will advice you to chain your dog up for months to make them aggressive, I bet you if you take your dog outside it's house to a place it has never been before then let a stranger attack it with knockout you'll see how your dog will drag you and run.

fear aggression is not real aggression, a good guard dog should be able to recognise and differentiate between a threat and a visitor. barking anyhow doesn't make it a good guard dog, they are just acting like that because they are scared or nervous because they don't see people regularly if a group of people come or someone that is not scared of them attacks, you'll see how they'll back down. because it attacks and barks at children that come to fetch water doesn't mean it will have the mind to attack 2 grown men holding guns.

I've seen a scenario were the guy had 3dogs, 2gsd's and a cauc. he trained the gsds by himself while the cauc wasn't his, the gsds are only released at night while the cauc was well trained by his previous owner. one day, 3 men infiltrated the compound to rob and all 3 dogs came out and barked ferociously. to cut the story short, shots were fired and guess which dogs ran to hide in their kennels(where they are locked up everyday)?, the gsds! the cauc still stood and attacked the intruders and chased the intruders away even after it got shot( it wasn't lethal and the dog survived).

fear aggression isn't real aggression, a dog with fear aggression is a danger to others and also itself, train your dogs and also socialise them, we see guard dogs in other countries being well trained, I don't know why Nigerians feel like ours should be chained for eternity for them to be good guard dogs

my dog is not aggressive but I can bet it is more confident than your dog.

Well said. An unstable dog cannot do anything when you need it to people forget that these police dogs at the end of the day go home to the families of their owners and are pets at home or they are adopted after retirement

Police dogs are professionals who have been trained by professionals. This is Nigeria, so the only way we know how to train our dogs is to make them aggressive and untrusting, here in Nigeria, who can afford to train their dog to be like police dog or like military attack dog, you will just go to them, they will tell you 70k after you have just spent 50k to buy the dog.

Me, I don't even need my dogs to be like police dog, as long as they can bark to alert me and bite any stranger who tries to pet them, then it is OK for me. Because I need them to alert me and my folkes when there is an intruder around and I don't like people to pet my dogs when I am not there, if not, they will be too trusting.

I think if you are interested in the fear-based aggression like people here are already pointing out. What you have to do is to isolate the dog not to go beyond your compound and lock it in its cage often and it will become aggressive.
At least, that was how my aunt trained their guard dog and he is aggressive towards people he meets newly.
But again, your dog is still young.

I beat him whenever he eats from a plate not meant for him, I will put my food down and when he wants to eat from it I beat him and show him his plate, e knows wah d sound UNH means (stop or kai). Image where he eats from his plate and where e doesn't eat the fish not meant for him

1. puppies usually inherit the temperament of their parents so if a dog is very aggressive, the probability of it having aggressive puppies is high
2. different dogs have different growth speeds so it depends on the dog and the environment. some start at 1year, some start at 2months
3. the puppy will already be showing signs of aggression, it may not be focused but the signs will be there. it may start trying to snap at it's litter mates or barking at strangers, some even try to pick fights with their litter mates for no reason, things like that

There's a huge difference between aggressive and well trained. An aggressive dog can attack anyone including you, is that what you want? A well trained dog knows when to be on guard and that's what you should focus on.

What do u guys really mean by caging pls,does it mean the dog be kept in a cage for a said period of time without even taking the dog out for a walk?, and for how long will one need to do the caging?

Caging kinda brings out the aggression in dogs. I tried it and it works. Tho at five months it barks but cannot stand its ground. Its easy to scare it off. Just do like say you wan carry stick for ground e go tear race.

Bailey is just 2months old, but you can't dare my door when she's there. She will bark and chase you away. I trained her to chase after chickens and other dogs. But she couldn't do it at first, So I took her to where there are many dogs to mingle with them. She was afraid at first, but later she got over it and move on. I always give her a word? Attack!!! Before you know it, she is chasing after anything I said she should attack. Be it humans, dogs, and chickens. You can imagine at two months she is this way, what about when she is 12 months. I think you meant a well-trained dog. With such a question, it is worth contacting professional trainers since all dogs are individual. That is, the tricks that helped me may not be effective for your pet.

So what you do is first, put him on a leash. Then, get some really yummy treats, like warm chicken or hot dog or string cheese (my dog's favorite). Something he never gets and will be specific to this training. Then put him in a sit position. Ask a friend with a calm dog or just the friend to walk by, not looking at your dog and otherwise acting like he's not there. Then, when he sees another dog/person, immediately get his attention and say "dog!" or "person!" in a nice excited voice and give him the treat. As he remains calm while the dogs/people pass (don't allow greetings yet), keep feeding him the yummy treats. If he gets over-stimulated by the dog or person and gets growly or barks, immediately remove him from the situation by walking him the other way and apply a verbal reprimand like "wrong" or "no" as you're removing him. Once he's calm again, you go back to the beginning with the yummy treats.
