The SE should not make mention of marginalization or ask for ANY position from this government. Doing so obviously negates this your stance.

The SE has never asked for anything from this government, be it now or in 2015

Igbos are in political wilderness. Even they still calling for a northern presidential candidate in 2023. Despite the fact that north were not interested in presidential position Because they believe in rotation of power .However if ibos failed to support southwest for presidential election I pity what would be fall them after the election,Because without them apc would still win. There's a probability that pdp will give their ticket to Akinwumi Adeshina the president of B.O.A.D.

Afonja deceiving himself that the north doesn't want presidency in 2023

And guess what? if there's a presidential re-run, we go follow PDP.. over and over again..

What do we expect from the government of the north, by the north, and for the north?.

Look at how they dumped ROCHAS.. same treatment awaits Orji Uzor if he pushes too much.

Please don't turn the fact on its head. Which party would reward its members for disloyalty? May be PDP, your party. Rochas ensured that APC lost out in the last governorship election because his in-law didn't win the primary. APC will punish him, simple as ABC.

Calculating:

Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) says the South East region marginalised itself during the 2019 general election.

Mr Lawal, an ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, who sacked over his role in a grass-cutting scandal, also advised the geo-political zone to quit blaming others for their decision.

Nigerians during this year’s election, choosed their leaders mainly from the two major political parties in the country, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While President Muhammadu Buhari on the platform of the APC, sought a second term in office, Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the PDP was his major challenger. The President defeated the former vice president with over 4 million votes.

The recent marginalisation claim by indigenes from the Igbo predominantly area resurfaced when the APC made known its preferred candidates for leadership of the incoming 9th National Assembly expected to kick-off in June.

Weighing in on the issue, the former SGF noted that in politics those who reap are those who sowed even though it's a risky venture. He said the people should blame themselves for their fate.

“They (South East) go their own way which they are entitled to doing and then they come round and say marginalization in an election in which they marginalised themselves,” Lawal said in an interview with TheSun.

“They marginalised themselves in this election. They went for PDP which lost.

“Nobody forced them to vote PDP. But they lost. So, that is politics. Politics is a game of risk. You lose, you sit down and watch through the window when people are chopping on the dining table. So, they shouldn’t blame anybody on marginalization,” he added.

Before the presidential election, allies of Mr Buhari urged the South East region to ensure they re-elect their principal by casting their votes for the president. The people played deaf ears and queued behind Mr Abubakar who had choosed their son as his Vice President. The PDP candidate has gone to the election tribunal, praying he be declared winner of the February 23 exercise.

Ndigbo are not been marginalized by the wits of northern region or south western region but due to the outcome of Nigeria/Biafra war. If the war was purely between Nigeria and Biafra, there is no way the present outcome would have been achieved. If these nonsensical noises from certain imbecilic ninnies from northern region are attempts to sway Ndigbo from their political ideology, they have already failed. If the concluded presidential election is to be repeated tomorrow, Ndigbo will still vote against Mohammed Buhari and APC. Political party is a house that harbors people with the same ideology. It is unfortunate that the same idiotic and reckless talks from the people of northern region origin that filled the airwaves in 1960s which led to the civil war are back in force led by Babachir Lawal and J. Muhammed.

'Alliance' indeed... the North will leave their fellow Northerner and vote a Yorubaman in 2023 because you have two heads..

Meanwhile the alliance Igbos have with Northeners in PDP cease to be one because yorubas in apc said so undecided

You had a successful alliance with the North for the first time in 2015 and is making empty noises all over the place..

The North will simply capitalise on the animosity between Igbos and Yorubas to their own advantage in 2023 and that is fine with us.

They did it in the past. What made you think that they won't do it again? Northerners are not like you people unless you are taking the words of your mentors like Junaid Mohammed seriously. Northerners play politics of common sense unlike you people who are always hate driven. Just wait and see

You sound like a drunk most times you post on this forum..Better sober up for your own good because Yoruba 2023 Presidency is DOA!!...The South besides your fellow afonjas will not vote for you while the North shall vote their own as usual.

Simple!

You know why I like you? You exudes confidence even in matters you know nothing about.

The northerners don't do politics of hatred/bitterness like the southeasterners.

Abiola, Obasanjo won their respective elections through northern majority votes, the northerners even left their very own Buhari to vote Jonathan in 2015..so when political conversation is ongoing, please humbly take the back seat OK.

A Yoruba presidency in 2023 is possible.

All the afonja clowns who quoted me are as daft as ever....You lots have simply refused to use your pea-brains...

No Northerner so far has alluded to any purported alliance with you jesters...As soon as the rigged elections were anmounced, many of them voiced their displeasure on how yorubas voted which were al,ost even between PDP and APC,the ones who have spoken so far about the 2023 elections have hinted on a Northern candidate.

Yet these ever delusiional folks are either talking about how MKO was voted by the North or how the North is not interested in 2023 Presidential elections

If that is not psychosis mixed with hunger,i dont know what is.

In general, Politics is a dirty game but in Nigeria, it's not only a very dirty game but a zero-sum game. If the statement attributed to Babachir Lawal is true, "You marginalized yourselves, stop blaming others..." then it is not only preposterous but downright idiotic. Just because a section of the country voted for a party or a candidate of their choice is no reason to push them to the edge of society by not allowing them a place within it. The last time I checked, Nigeria is supposed to be a DEMOCRACY and each voter has the God-given right to support any candidate of his choice without fear of being marginalized. If Nigeria is truly one country, once the election is over, it SHOULD not matter who the voters voted for when it comes to governance.

If people like Mr. Lawal wants ALL Nigerians to vote for one Party and a candidate of his choice, then why not just have one party system? It is people with this type of mentality that is setting the country backwards. In any real country [not this concocted space called Nigeria], when the election is over, the winning candidate would address the nation and promise its citizens especially those who did not vote for him that he was elected as the President of all and would govern in like manner. That's what a true leader does and not act like an slowpoke wondering who is out to get him or sacrificing long-term success for short-term profits. This lack of humility, compassion, responsibility, and tenacity in those who claim the mantle of leadership albeit not deserving of such is the reason the country would NEVER reach its full potential.

I am not igbo but i love them,i love their doggedness and resilience, if all other tribe's mocking them hate them this much, then why not allow them have their biafra, why hate and mock them and still want to hold on to them, that is why they (igbo) will always be superior to the other two major tribe's, they just want to be Free so free them, give them their biafra and they will gladly leave this false entity call Nigeria alone.
They want Biafra & still want to stay in Lagos & other states, right? Are the ones in other parts of Nigeria ready to move out? Are the ones already in our universities ready to pay international students fee running to thousands of dollars every year?

If the gorilla descendants are serious about having their country, they should leave other parts of Nigeria & move back to their cursed landlocked region first! You cannot be in Lagos & be shouting one dead Biafra.

Even the south south that they always attach to their Biafra have always vehemently rejected being part of the Biafra & would rather remain in Nigeria or form their own country because the south south know the sort of humans they are.

The gorilla descendants are practically useless to Nigeria. Nobody takes them serious. That's why they're not even worthy enough to have 6 states like every other region. If na the South south wan move out now, that's where Nigeria will need to panic, not some irrelevant, unnecessarily arrogant & extremely deluded set of gorillas with flat heads.
