I just hope the kidnappers don't turn to the trains. It will be too disastrous if a train gets derailed. That's a goodbye to railway transportation.

Naughtysite:
I am just imagining how people are being kidnapped in a road where the minimum speed one can do is 100km/hr even 120km/hr because of how long and vast that road is.

What is the modus operandi of these dare devils ?

They place boulders on the roads and spray the oncoming vehicle.

If no one drives those roads, the bandits may be attracted to attacking those trains. Lots of big fishes rise those trains.

Hope it never happens, or the government takes active steps to secure the routes.

Providing no security on the road could be a strategy for travellers to use the train. Generate more revenue. Wetin I know sef
This logic would have made sense if there were more trains plying the route and more trips per day, unfortunately there are only four measly trips a day with wednesdays having just two trips. undecided undecided

This report makes it appear passengers can buy tickets a couple of hours before the trip.

I travelled by rail last Saturday from Idu to Rigasa with the 2:20pm trip.

I arrived at the station at 10am and met passengers who had arrived earlier, about 8am and just sat on the floor outside for the 2:20pm trip.
Tickets were refused to be sold for the 2:20pm trip until about 12:30pm after much pressure was put on them by people present and huge crowd started building up.

After about 15 persons were granted entry into the building to buy tickets, the next thing that was announced was that 1st class seats were finished. This almost caused a huge problem at the station as many knew the 'Naija factor' had come into play.

The boarding hall had only a few seats. No air conditioning system in place, and it was so stuffy.

Seems the structures that were in place prior to commissioning of these stations have remained the same with no improvement.

Why are tickets not sold online, at least a day or two earlier?

Obviuosly, more coaches are needed to provide effective rail service.

Na to put landmine for d track cheesy
Naaa. ... you got it wrong

They'd just smuggle their weapons unto the train as cargo, split their team members in coaches, board normaly and hijack the train midway. Kill the security escort rob for two hours and escape into thin air via a standby ground team waiting at the hijack point or rendezvous. I am sure the authorities have not thought of this until there are victims. FAILED STATE! ALWAYS RESPONDING WITH MEDICINE AFTER DEATH

if course it is the failure of PDP to sanitise the criminal justice system that led to this. Or what do you think? ]

When Nigerians are pushed to the wall, instead of taking a stand, would rather create a hole in the wall and enter.

Imagine this nonsense.
grin It's a sad situation. Nigerians are so docile and cowardly.

If they see nobody on the roads, they will come kidnap on trains. Leaders have failed the people.
Even the operation puff adder is just puffing while people are being killed.

What if this is a ploy to make the rail transport system work?? Not many are fans of train transportation and this kidnapping issue is to increase revenue to rail transportation
