You obviously don't know what it means to be an Independent Arm of Government. You're not independent if someone is foisted on you by the executive. APC should zone the position and allow the senators from that zone to select their leader or field leaders that will compete for the post. That is being Independent and NOT remote-controlled!!

Avoid Saraki's troubles. Throughout the four years that Saraki usurped the Senate Presidency, Saraki never slept with any of his eyes closed. Both of his eyes were opened always even when he was sleeping. It was four years of troubles, different court cases, police harassment, DSS invasion, fellow Senators revote, always one trouble or the other. Why go through all the trouble when you can respect the party's position and be in peace with everybody? At the end of the day, Saraki is not returning to the Senate and his puppet too did not win the governorship, not even one Assembly seat was won by Saraki group. Ndume, be warned.
