When it comes to well being, there is a significant correlation between the physical and the mental health. In addition, working on one

(physical) can drastically improve the other (mental).

Your psychological and physiological abilities must be in harmony. Therefore, you must always practise a healthier lifestyle.

To overcome this, you need to develop a plan and work at it. This is what most people lack. Unhealthy lifestyle and lack of plan is usual and

hence, many people end up performing poorly at work, school, social gathering or relationships.

There are ways you can develop a healthier lifestyle. Below are list of suggested habits if well incorporated will help you to improve not only

your physical fitness but also your mental fitness.


1. Locate a Physical Activity That You Like

Being physically fit does not necessarily connote hitting the gym all the time or running 5 kilometres a day. There are myriads alternatives. You

can engage yourself in sport, athletics etc.

The sporting activities in which you can choose from should be the ones you love. Some enjoy playing football, table tennis. Anyone you choose

helps to tone your physiques. Your secrets to healthier body lie in your favourite activity. More so, if you are worried that an activity is not tiring

enough, you can combine it with other interest of yours to give a synergistic effect. For instance, if you love listening to music, you can listen to

it while on a treadmill.


2. Spend Time Outdoors

Moving from your comfort zone could have an impressive effect on your physical and mental health. Nature brings comfort.

Exposure to sun releases hormone serotonin in your brain and improves your temperament. If you are easily hot-headed individual, then an

hour outdoors every day will suffice.


3. Meditation

It is not compulsory you need to learn yoga before you have a great meditation. All it requires is stillness and mindfulness.

Some discover it while praying, reading even while walking. Find out stills your mind and helps you silence the world outside.


4. Generosity

Someone once said “Community service is the rent you pay for your room on earth.” Kindness helps to reduce insecurity and anxiety.

Generosity doesn’t mean you must give material things; you can be generous with your smile, a helping hand or information. I remember a

poplar saying “Charity begins at home but must not stop there.” You can take up charitable work.

If you are asked to carry one chair, offer to carry three. It is profitable of you find happiness in other people’s happiness.



5. Laugh

Laughter is the best medicine. This is another way of staying healthy; physically and mentally. Laughter reduces stress and strengthens your

memory.

Locate what amuses you and remain open-minded in conversation.



6. Maintain Healthy Eating

What you eat can have a drastic effect on your physiological and psychological power. You are what you eat! Maintain a healthy diet. Stay

hydrated. Eat a whole lot of fruit. Eat moderately.

Excessive eating of any food is dangerous. Let your breakfast be the biggest meal, lunch smaller and dinner smallest. Lastly, avoid excess

intake of sugar. Do all these, your body will thank you (wink).



7. Have a good sleep

If you want to be a high performer, then, you must be a good sleeper. You don’t have any reason to deprive yourself a good sleep. Not getting

enough sleep reduces your productivity, causes depression, exhaustion, fatigue and demotivation.
