I strongly support. If it didn't happen in 19days, it wount happen on d 20th day. If na me I for don giv up at the count of 16days. Another 20 days count will be tentative.

I go arrange 600 years for the guy wey de do count down.

If you followed my posts you will notice that I mentioned even before last weekend that this 20 days countdown may no longer be feasible due to the extension of resumption of international flights from 29th August to 5th September.

I believe that the delay is because the NCS management want to ensure that everyone that applied including those abroad can attend the interview.

I just felt that I should stick to the original 20 day count that I initiated so as to stick to my word even if it means failure to be accurate.

Accuracy is the preserve of Almighty God.

My fans real many o. Anyway, we go meet physically in camp insha Allah.

…applicants allege shady deals

Barely after 16 months that the Nigeria Customs Service announced and opened its online registration portal for recruitment, the service is yet to shortlist candidates from the exercise.

NCS had on April 17, 2019 opened its portal for recruitment of 3,200 officers and men of the Service. According to the NCS, 524,315 applicants had successfully completed their application process as at

the time the portal was closed in May 2019.

However, 16 months down the line, the service is still withholding the list of shortlisted candidates as none of the applicants had been invited for either interview or training, which is a prerequisite for

job placement in the NCS.

Also recall that the Comptroller General of Customs, Hammed Ali approved a whopping sum of N1.6billon to a consultant for the recruitment of 3,200 personnel into the service.

This covers recruitment process which is N300million, feeding of 3,200 put at N2000 each, daily for 6 months amounting to N1. 152billion.

Then Logistics, training kits and teaching allowances all carefully calculated to arrive at the N1, 570billion.

The recruitment process has lingered on from 2019 until now with Customs again blaming the delay on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Customs Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah kept mom when Nigerian NewsDirect in a text message requested for update on the exercise.

Meanwhile, candidates who applied for the Customs job have expressed worries over the delay in the recruitment process just as they made allegations that the exercise is riddled with corruption.

One of the candidates, who gave his name as Afolabi, alleged that some top government functionaries are offering bribes to top Customs officials to secure slots for their candidates.

He said, “Since after the exam we have not heard anything from Customs except telling us not to pay money to anybody but we heard top government officials are secretly paying as much as one million naira to top Customs officials for their candidates.

“Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, we have heard of other paramilitary agencies recruiting and doing the shortlisting of their candidates but up till now, we have not heard anything from Customs.

Nothing should have warranted the delay even before COVID-19. Customs is just using COVID-19 as an excuse after we have suffered travelling from one state to another to write the exam.
