The money cannot afford two bags of rice. It is even less than ten Dollars ($10.00).
Ten dollars is less than 4k, let's be objective in our criticism.

Ignorance and lack of education will kill this country and it's pathetic the percentage of Nigerians who fall into that category.

Do you know what value 30K can get you?
Mr educated, the minimum wage might be 30k but no one will earn that little.
Have you seen anyone who earns the exact minimum wage in an organized setting before?

U are just too stupid. #30000 is $83.44
Bags of rice is now 13-16k per bag... Dont spread false info
In February 2011, FG started the implementation of the new national minimum wage of #18,000 per month. The naira exchange rate to dollar was $1 = #154. This means the then minimum wage in 2011 was $116.88
Today, the FG want the workers to be rejoicing that their minimum wage has increased from #18,000 to #30000, which only equivalent to $83.44 as you have put it up there.
Is this an increment in real terms?

Bro am talking from an economic stand point, 70% of our budgetary allocation is spent on recurrent expenditures, our national debt profile has increased by at least by 50% in the last four years, oil price pundits are strongly predicting an oil glut which will definitely affect our government earnings, inflation on the other hand will force prices up beyond the marginal salary increase the people are celebrating...who will loose from all this? Savers! Whose monies in the bank will loose value, salary earners! Whose thirst will be quenched with salty sea waters. And who will gain? Business men! Cause more money in circulation means more spending. Real estate investors! Because every fixed asset will increase in value.
Am not an economist, just a guy who hunger and lack has forced to understand the systems of money.

Can't imagin how people can reason with sentiment. What can 30k buy in the market today as compared with 18k under previous administration. Meanwhile, OBJ increased lecturers' salary without making noise and GEJ increased workers salary without strike and no noise. Can't you people leave religion and ethnicity and face truth for ones in this country? How has APC helped you as a person? Do you go to market and buy things without money or do you get fuel free of charge at the gas station? It's unfortunate I share the same geographical space with some lunatics.

You're a PHat lair, the last President that increased the minimum wage was Yar adua, why are you guys so full of hate? Please if this country tire you leave. If you're giving 30k minimum wage. Tell them you prefer 18k.

don't mind those ignorant fellows. To them signing 30k minimum wage bill shud be celebrated. I don't know why some ppl r so myopic. They don't know dat inflation has rubbished any significance of wage increase.

To some people on here. A minimum wage is not an amount meant to support a family, but only yourself.
If you want to support a family and you only make a minimum wage then that means you are not prepared.
To make a livable wage that means you've worked enough to deserve it.

Can't you just appreciate this man efforts for once The fact that you're pained he won the election doesn't mean you shouldn't reason and be realistic in your submission.

And if you don't know 30,000 will go a long way to solve people's problems, for someone who has been receiving 18k before to be paid 30k now is an improvement upon his life. You don't have to be bitter all the time. Pls kindly get over the post election trauma or post elections anxiety disorder.

I know you are one of the incurable low guys still feeding from mum and daddy. 18k under GEJ could comfortably buy 2 bags of rice. How many bags can 30k buy now? What has your Kunu guzzling terrorist achieved that you are celebrating. Your servitude has perpetually enslaved your ability to be objective. I pity your generation.

For private companies to employ the minimum wage, that means they will need to downsize there employees or hire less people so as to afford to pay them the minimum wage.

If the new minimum wage that is being celebrated #30,000 is $83.44 in 2019, how much was #18,000 minimum wage in dollar when the last administration implemented it? You will see how FG has tactically surchanged workers in Nigeria.
For your information, #18,000 was about $116.88 in 2011 was last FG administration increased the minimum wage.

I laugh @d way u people do your Analysis sha.....!!!

Do u think the Nigerian Naira is the only affected currency
What about the russian Ruble ?? the Indian Rupee and the icelandic krona

Fact is exchabge rates have increased all over the world. No t just the naira. On April 18th 2011, it was 28russian ruble to 1dollar.
Today it is 64 russian ruble to 1 dollar.
Why is it so ??

You don't deserve any attention cos you have made yourself an enemy of truth. But convert 18k tondallar in 2014 and 30k to dollar in 2019 and conclude yourself if your brain is still intact. Sorry you have made yourself a servant of sentiment and a slave to a cow reaerer.
