Personally, there is nothing 'wrong' in taking alcohol.

But the problem is, most people view university as a place for having fun and being 'free' . It is still a school...and school have rules...which prepare you for the future.

There are many companies that have strict rules and regulations governing the conduct of their employees. That is what the rules of Landmark university are preparing their students for.

For instance, I once was tasked with filling the medical certification form of a guy who was taking a job with PETRONAS...a Malaysian petroleum company. (and a major international player in the oil industry)Among the tests asked for was a test for weed. Now, most people think there is nothing wrong with weed...yet the company does not want its employees smoking weed.

The thing about school is that it isn't just for collecting that certificate...it is also for preparing you for the world of tomorrow......

One other thing...the guy did not want to go there...but his parents sent him there, thinking that their son would be 'transformed into a holy holy brother'. If you want to be critical...criticize the parents who want to force their son into something he is not...not the school for maintaining rules and regulations.

Why did the police dismiss that sergeant (abi na inspector sef) who was caught drinking and fooling around in a joint in uniform and with his loaded rifle?

It is because there are rules in place in every organization. If you cannot follow certain rules, then you should not be in the places where those rules are enforced.

For instance, you can decide to smoke weed or use coke in your house. However, the traces will remain in your urine. If you work in a place where periodic drug tests are done (e.g. if you are an athlete), would you want to be the scapegoat for traces of illicit substances found in your urine during random drug tests?

It is all about discipline.

Stanford university is one of the top 5 universities in the world yet it has one of the highest community rape cases in the USA. The rape cases are traceable to club partying and excessive alcoholism.

So as a Christian University do you expect they'd want such nonsense on their campus?

Your analogy is abysmally warped. And you seem not to know that alcohol has several benefits ranging from reducing cardiovascular diseases to reducing risk of diabetes, gallstones. But bad when abused.

So because vehicles kill people, we should all be trekking and ban vehicles?

Is there anything that is not bad when abused?

Even ordinary water can be harmful if taken excessively. It can cause hyponatremia which can be fatal.

Tramadol is a pain reliever but people have abused it and died from complications thereof.

Do you now ban it outright?
