adeadex2006:
67% is the new percentage increment. E.g
If old minimum wage is 18000 what is the new minimum wage?
Solution:
67/100 * 18000= 30000.
you are right

so an increment from 18k to 30k is 67%? please work on your statistics. let me help you out and you must pay me . to calculate the increment is like this new minus old multiply by the old. therefore the percentage of increment is 30,000-18000 = 12,000. therefore 12,000\18, 000 = 0.4 percent incremental. please clap for me. the increment is 40 percent and not 67 percent

Let's assume this is true......

What's the essence of this long calculations. Simply calculate the percentage increase between 18k and 30k. Whatever the percentage increase is, multiply it by your current income......

Na wah for Nigerians and poor reasoning oh. Please who told u guys that your salary must increase if you already earn above minimum wage? Minimum wage simply means that no one should earn below 30k. Not that if u are earning 1 million already ur boss must increase it because minimum wage has increased.

He is wrong. Percentage increase is actually 67% and this increase ordinarily should affect all salary earners i.e every salary earners salary should be increased by dat percentage because the current salary of every worker was calculated ising the old minimum wage. However, because of nigeria economic and financial strenght. Not all salary earners will received the increment as at now

Let me teach you small mathematics sir.

Percentage increase = actual increase / initial amount multiplied by 100percent.

actual increase = 30000 - 18000

= 12000.

Therefore, percentage increase = 12000/18000 *100

= 66.7 percent.

Let's check your 40percent....

Increase = 40/100*18000
= 7200.

If you add 7200 increase to 18000, you will get 25,200.

The minimum wage is 30000.

Your percentage is wrong sir.

Do this check with 66.7percent.

God bless you. You should know that Jesus is the only passport to heaven.

It can never be percentage increase because the government can't pay for that.
Let us all be patient and see what they will come up with. If it is not enough, we demonstrate. Simple.

You are wrong. Percentage increase is calculated thus:

New figure minus the old figure divided by the old figure multiply by 100 I.e (30,000 - 18,000)/18,000 = 66.6666%.

Meanwhile still need the understanding of calculation of minimum wage

viver1:
30,000(new) - 18,000(old) = 12,000(difference)
12,000/18,000= 0.6666
0.6666 x 100%= 66.66

Approximately 66.7% increment.
If u were earning 25,000, new pay will be:
(25,000x66.7)/100 = 16,675
16,675+25,000
=41,675

Simple mathematics. 30 is in the multiple of 3 if you agree. And you can find ten 3s in 30.
The old minimum wage is 18k where you can find six 3s - 60%
The increment is 12k which has four 3s - 40%.
So 40% is the increment, dont kill yourself with formula

You are on point bro

Buhari even said it's only those who are currently earning below #30k that will benefit from the increment.

Thus those whose basic is less than 30 will enjoy 67% increase.

For those whose basic is more than #30k another round of negotiation might begin to determine the percentage increase the government will agree to pay.

Note the law says it's criminal to pay less than the minimum wage. Once government satisfied the law, then other increment is discretional...

dont be deceived... if you were receiving 25,000 before in a private company, dont expect your boss to pay you 41,666

as a smart businessman, he will just add 7,000 to your money making it 32,000,to the businessman, he has paid you above minimum wage. nothing you can do
that I'd precisely what min wage means., it means nobody should earn below 30k it does not mean thatvur salary must increase by the percentage increase between the previous min w and the new wage.
