The Lagos State House of Assembly has finally passed the 2019 budget presented to it by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in February this year. The Assembly passed the budget on Monday evening nearly two months of heated debates and politicking. Igbere TV reports that N21 billion was added to the original budget of N852.317 billion presented by the governor. It will be recalled that Governor Ambode could not present the budget in December, 2018 and had to present it in February, 2019. N21.216 billion more than what Ambode proposed. But N287. 68 billion lesser than that of 2018 which stood at N 1.04 trillion. Nobody should quote me and call Tinubu or Ambode name here. I'm just making an honest observation. Feel free to interpret it the way you want. |

BrainSanitizer: So this PADDING of BUDGET has not stopped? it is only the Executive that can MAKE Budget, the Legislators are to either accept it as it is or if they think something is amiss in what was presented, they can ONLY POINT IT OUT and RETURN IT back to the Executive, to make AMENDS and RE-PRESENT. It is criminal and against the ethics of Democracy to "Execute and also APPROVE" all by yourselves. Lagos Legislators are Criminals, they have established that now. These are the Rogues Tinubu bequeated to Lagosians BTW: I am not concerned about where the "padded #21Billion" is going to but as long as it was not properly added but PADDED, it is criminal. Come and pay minimum wage now, it is then they will start complaining that there is no money |
