Abike Dabiri, a Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has been accused of playing tribe by not mentioning names of fraudsters arrested in the US. Recall that few weeks ago, the Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, came under heavy criticism after being accused of releasing the names of five Nigerians arrested for alleged robbery in Dubai, UAE, with the intention of stereotyping an ethnic group.

In the statement, Dabiri-Erewa described the alleged action of the suspects as “despicable and shameful,” as she lamented that the suspects went to a foreign land to disgrace the country. She had earlier said in a tweet: “We need to tell our brothers behaving badly to behave. Let’s get the names of those involved to name and shame them.”

However after it was learnt that nine Nigerians arrested for allegedly defrauding individuals and businesses of more than $3.5 million in the US were from the Yoruba tribe, it has led to a tribes war. Abike Dabiri was accused of playing tribe by not mentioning names of fraudsters arrested in US. The suspects are Oluwaseun Adelekan, 36; Olalekan Daramola, 35; Solomon Aburekhanlen, 32; Gbenga Oyeneyin, 32; Abiola Olajumoke, 46; Temitope Omotayo, 36; Bryan Eadie, 35; Albert Lucas, 29; and Ademola Adebogun, 38.Here are tweets over the arrest of the suspects in the United States below;

What's the point when the bloggers can easily access those names and make them go viral themselves?

Though is shameful that Nigerians went as far as Dubai to engage in robbery but we will blame all these on Nigerian Government who has failed Nigerians at home. Bad economy, No power, no jobs

Anything afonjas engage in to spite others is always backfiring. They started NCAN on nairaland, today they are being hunted by that .
Some of us that spend time on crime section are seeing a lot of unprintable things they do in this country and in diaspora. It's a pity

This depicts how low our country has gone, now people paint crime with tribe forgetting that it is a traveller and visits all tribes taking residency in none.
Condemn crime and leave tribe alone.

We know the scheme, Fulani girl arrested for drug possession in Saudi Arabia and we hear that she is innocent that the drug was planted by airport staff.

Whenever an Igbo name is involved in a crime abroad, they are quickly named and accused of being guilty and Abike Dabiri will shout that Okechukwu Okonkwo and Chinedu Okeke has brought 'shame' to the country but if they are Yorubas she will say '2 Nigerians have been arrested for crimes abroad or a Nigerian woman has been executed in Saudi Arabia. sad!

I dont know why they think only people with Igbo names needs to be named and shamed angry angry

It's sad, when crime happens these days, the first thing people want to know is the tribe. That's how sunken our values have become, forgetting that foreigners see us first as Nigerians.

This was what she should have done in the first place. Refer to them as Nigerians shikena. No need for names.

Now everybody wants a pound of flesh.

Abike can never change, thanks for social media, I remember when south west news papers will accuse other tribes of this and that today with social media our mouth can't not say what our eyes saw with the type of ritual going on in south west
