The A-Frame Roof

"Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste" (Isaiah 28:16).

A man thought of a unique way to paint the roof of his A-frame house. He threw a rope over the roof and tied it in a secure knot to the bumper of his car. No doubt he also made sure the emergency brake was on so the vehicle wouldn't roll back with his weight. He then went around to the back of the house, climbed onto the roof and tied the rope tightly around his waist. Then he leaned back, impressed by his ingenuity.

A short time later his wife, not knowing what her inventive husband had done, came out of the house with car keys in hand. She got into the vehicle and drove off, pulling her husband over the roof and down the other side. The man was seriously injured.

The moral of this true story is that you are only as secure as to that which you secure yourself. If you entrust yourself to the belief that good works will save you on Judgment Day or that evolution is true, it will bring about your tragic and eternal downfall.

A TV news reporter once said, "Tonight we will look at the buying and selling of the world's most priceless commodity - information."

He was right, information is the world's most priceless commodity. If you have information as to where oil deposits are, or you have information about the location of gold or diamonds in the earth, you can be a billionaire overnight.

Information can even save your life. If you are in a building that is on fire and you know the location of the fire escapes, you can find your way out. If you are without that information, you will probably die. Your actions will be governed by information, what you know and what you don't know.

Perhaps you see nothing wrong with believing the theory of evolution or some other theory about our origins. But remember, your information will govern your actions. If you believe a drink contains poison, you won't drink it. If you believe it is okay, you will drink it. If you believe evolution is true, and from that premise believe that the Bible is false, you won't then repent.

Why should you? Like the man who secured himself to the car, you will find you are only as secure as that to which you have secured yourself. If your faith is placed in evolution and not in God's promises, you will find that what you have tied yourself to will be your eternal downfall.
You will perish because you refused information that would have saved you. (From, The Evidence Bible).
