instead of this general condemnation you should rather seek for proofs from him,there may just be some truth in his claims you know,mind you that most of the chemical stuffs are extracted from the herbs,my father use to treat ear infection effectively in the 80s n he was renounce for that unfortunately he died without any of us inheriting that knowledge,I blame my elder brothers for I was very small then, it's not all herbal remedies that are worthless.

I am not saying herbal medicines don't work. A few have been proven to work for SPECIFIC diseases. But to come and mouth rubbish that Western Medicines are useless for stroke I find that very offensive. It's the medical equivalent of Boko Haram

You know the herb Dogonyaro? U know it's a proven treatment for malaria (used to be at least). And u know it was used by local herbs men before western science researched it. So how can you justify the so-called impossibility of modernising our local science. I have no grouse with herbs (where they are proven to work). My grouse is when charlatans that know nothing about disease and treatment market herbs as a panacea for all medical conditions. You here them say it cures "pile", cures "watery sperm", cures "hotness of waist", cures "premature ejaculation". One herb o. That's nonsense.

And NO I'm not a medic (trained or untrained). I'm a man of science and believe in repeatedly proven methods

yes we are still on the same page, the efficacy of dogonyaro was discovered by the herbalist in a strange manner but proven by science,so all I'm saying is that you the science people can get the herbs the herbalist claims to effective against stroke n refined it just like the dogonyaro plant you mentioned, it's certainly wrong to claim one herb or any medicine at all can cure unlimited ailments.
