TheAngry1:How are we saying the same thing? What's the relation between our points? I don't know the side you're on. Twisted or not, your comment portrays Deltans as Ibos...whether you agree or not. And it is this portrayal that I rejected. I think you're the agitated one though |

with this decision taken by buhari, most people will still see it as a tool to hurl insults at the presidency.i will patiently wait until the senate endorses him for a second term, lets wait and see if the senate will find him worthy of another stint as the major driver of our economy |

Congratulations Mr Emiefiele,,I'm happy for you.But ensure the borrowing rates for Manufacturing Companies move to one digit.that is the way to go to develop our economy.Let the Agriculture Rates move to 4-5% to make many Nigerians be on their own.High Interest Rate is a no no to developmental projects, hence abandoned projects everywhere.. Consequently, bad facilities in our financial institutions. 1 Like 1 Share |

OGHENAOGIE:Oga please stop this nonsense! Many of us from delta north are Igbos! I'm from Asaba and a proud Igboman! Even okowa himself has said it severally that we're Igbos! Some of you in Urobo, itshekiri, ijaw and the others always want to drag everybody in delta into your identity crisis. Many of you don't know what it entails to have a solid grounding in one's tribe and culture because you are not in touch with your own cultures and you must drag everybody down to your lack of cultural identity!!! @Pussyphillia Thanks my brother for standing up as an Igbo man despite the attempts to divide us by outsiders. what many don't know is that our Igbo brothers across the Niger river fought the civil war with us till the end, and that food supplies from Anioma kept Biafra going till the end of the war. God bless you and also Asaba is my favourite Nigerian city since visited from mid-2000s. 3 Likes |

OGHENAOGIE:Firstly "Delta" isn't a tribe you brain dead mo.ron(aren't you old enough not to sound this dumb?) like even a kid in kindagarten knows this already. Stop this nonsense, it's getting stale and really annoying already. You can't know a man's identity more than him. We've trashed this issue several times already that there are areas in Delta especially among the Ika people that don't completely see themselves as Igbos cause of the Benin heritage they also share... Oliseh just happens to fall into that category. But the greater Anioma nation that has produced the likes of Okonjo Iweala, JJ Okocha, Ovia, Achuzia etc have always proudly and unabashedly identified with their undiluted Igboness. Not sure of you guys are just plain stupid or mischievously ignorant of these simple concepts, or perhaps both not to grasp something as simple as that. 5 Likes |

Foodforthought:*SIGH*, if only your insecurity antennas weren't malfunctioning and receiving wrong signals, you should have at least had the basic comprehension skill to read and understand that no where in these thread did anybody claim Delta state was Biafran territory, except you are inversely implying that the the Igbos in Delta account for 99% of the population there, then maybe I would understand why you are wary about Delta been tagged as a Biafran territory. |

As expected, all the ignorant tribalists have come out of the woodwork to cheer this terrible new development as if it were a good thing, simply because it means "a southerner" (i.e. someone from their tribe) gets to be CBN governor for another 5 years, never mind the fact that Emefiele's incompetence and cowardice have done more damage to the businesses of southern entrepreneurs than anything since the Abacha years! The ugly truth - one that all the tribal champions neither know nor care to learn about - is that Emefiele's multi-tiered FX regime, along with his arbitrary import bans, have had a punishing effect on business confidence while encouraging massive capital flight. In seeking to go along with Buhari's confused notions about "saving" the Naira, Emefiele has actually weakened the currency for everyone who can't get access to the heavily subsidized "official" rate which looks so strong, i.e. pretty much every Nigerian who isn't a banker or a well-connected insider like Aliku Dangote. Meanwhile, the aforementioned insiders get to make massive profits through "round tripping" at zero personal risk, which is corruption on such a massive scale that it makes nearly all the outstanding EFCC cases look like small change. These risk-free profits represent funds that could have been allocated to far more useful things, like schools, hospitals, roads, sewage systems, security, etc., and the consequences for ordinary Nigerians are massive - hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths through clean water, primary health care and so on, as well as millions of children going without education that is funded well enough to make them fit to contribute to a modernizing country. Besides all of this, there is also the economic growth that will be foregone through Emefiele's protectionist policies: another 5 years of 2.5% annual growth, instead of the 7.5% or more that a more competent person could have fostered, will mean that the average Nigerian's income will be at least 20% lower than it could have been at the end of the period, and millions of young people will have to struggle unecessarily because of the millions of private-sector jobs that won't be created. If more of you bothered to understand the economic fundamentals at stake here, you'd all be outraged to have 5 more years of such waste. This is not a matter of tribe or region, as Charles Soludo was far better qualified for the role than Emefiele, and acquitted himself well in it, while I'm sure Kingsley Moghalu, as much of a political opportunist as he's shown himself to be, would also do a much better job if Buhari had picked him as a replacement. Buhari had any number of better alternatives available to him, but he's gone for a fellow incompetent who will help him strangle the economy for another 5 years, and yet the very people who will suffer the most from this are the ones who seem happiest about the development, simply because the economic assassin in charge will be their "kinsman"! What utter madness and stupidity. 5 Likes 2 Shares |
