Oil is getting out of market, whether they like it or not.... America hardly forget things.. the day a saudi king said america cannot do without oil, that they (saudi) can live without oil money, they never knew america never slept over that foolish statement... they started working on how to utilize other energy sources, while saudis were busy buying latest cars, phones, air conditioners and marrying multiple wives etc... thinking it will continue that way 2 Likes |

Ben Bruce is a fu..cking dunce! Electric cars is the least of our problems now, we have more pressing matters in the sector which is crucial for electric cars to function well! Mounting and decades long problems in the power sector NEEDS to be fixed first! |

LuciferAkbar: PHCN no longer exists, and the government cannot be held responsible for the electricity situation. The power industry has been privatized, from the generation company, to the distribution company, all are private entities. The only thing the government can do is regulate. |

The Electric Car Bill was Senator Bruce best contribution during his time in the Senate. If Nigeria starts early, even if it's baby steps, we'd go somewhere. Germany, France and other countries are already in the transition process. We don't have to wait until the world is a Million miles ahead. We'll it's Nigeria, if e no go benefit them, e no concern th em. A day would come, when we'd look back and remember this bill. Don't be surprised when one African country use this as expo and start their own. I'm talking about countries like South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Ethiopia. 4 Likes |

AutoJoshNG: I support the views of Senator Ben Murray Bruce on the need to introduce greener energy use in Nigeria. We can not afford to do otherwise. The developed nations of the world is fast showing lesser interest in our crude oil. I also think Nigeria should explore SOLAR ENERGY. We have a lot of sun burning away in Nigeria. 5 Likes |

AutoJoshNG:mumu. He doesn't think about the economic implication of his bill. He's only after name, as the person who sponsors such bill. For your information, Norway, Canada Saudi Arabia and recently USA r not part of Paris Climate deal for the single reason they are producing oil, partaking in such deal, will be detrimental to their economies. So this fool wants Nigeria, who has only oil as it main source of revenue to pass electric car bill 1 Like |

he didn't sponsor a bill that would help provide a stable electricity supply that would make electric cars workable in the country but really concerned about his bill on electric cars, one step at a time, this man lacks common sense |

Ben Bruce is right, and Nigeria has no control over this. Most countries will stop production of cars running on petrol in 10-15 years. We will be helpless at that time. We also stand to gain a lot as fuel importation will reduce and less subsidies, currently in trillions per year. I see us in confusion and panic mode at that time, unless we prepare 3 Likes |

LuciferAkbar: You talk as if you can see the future. But things don't usually pan out the way we say. Let's talk about electric cars when we first have a nationwide supply of renewable energy. Cos even if u import tons of electric cars, u still have to charge them, with what? Electricity that isn't stable and occasionally unavailable for days or u go on gen to charge ur car which is pointless cos you'll still depend on fuels. Bruce is right in his idea but its too early for Nigeria. I love your predictions tho, i pray to God it goes as u say it will go. |

Reading the comments here, I can clearly see Nigeria's problem. Many citizens are not ready to develop. Do you think it is impossible for Nigeria to adopt electric cars by 2035? If not for corruption, we can raise the needed power capacity in not more than 3 years (Egypt did it in just over 2). See Nigerians defending their mediocre leaders. These are reasons why we as a people need to come together and do away with people who have kept us this way. That we are a mono economy dependent on oil, whose fault? Isn't Nigeria blessed with every resource known to man? 4 Likes 1 Share |

I still wonder why people are batching this man, what is wrong in passing a bill that will affect us in 15 years to come . He never mentioned now , it’s a project for the future . Only want to encourage the government for proper planning and making alternative for the future to come . You guys should read the article . It’s a bill for 2035 . 15years is a long time for any sensible government to plan . We are here today cos our government has failed to plan . Don’t let us support them we can do better than this . 3 Likes |
