Congrats on receiving your copr. Pls I have a few questions:
1. Did you have any ghost update between ppr and copr?
2. How long after submitting your passport did it take for your profile to change to approved?
Yes I did. It took exactly 3 weeks when I submitted for it to show approved

Hello Folks

I have a very important question to ask. A friend of mine has a Bachelors degree in Economics. After graduation, he attended a 3 months course organized by the British International Safety Organization and obtained ‘HSE level 3’’. Can these be analyzed as two certificates by WES? What if he also has other certificates of short courses like the ‘fire safety and Risk Assessment’ issued by the department of petroleum resources of a ministry?

Urgent answer please

Answers in bold.
Please play around with the CRS tool and come back with more questions.

God bless you for this detailed response, sir. I also played around with the CSR score it was around 441 but like you said, I need to max out on Ielts. Thank you for being so encouraging. I hereby name you CHIEF ENCOURAGEMENT OFFICER. grin

Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by Liz2014(f): 2:01pm On Jun 18, 2019
Infact it's really an unusual speed, cos when he saw request letter in his account, he was so sure it was biometrics request. The clinic emailed them that her medical results have been sent to cic on Jun 4th. I ordered officer's electronics note (gcms) from here on Jun 12th just for fun on his behalf as its only $5 and he got the PPR letter on Jun 13th, so not sure if that triggered something or just coincidence. He has raised CSE as well, he sent an email to the accra address I was given here and attached his payment receipt of $1,125 and the information they got stating that she has to pay biometrics.. So they will wait for a reply, but he has decided that they are submitting passports tomorrow cos he doesn't live in lagos, he would not be chanced next week.

know:

This is an unusual speed..only God could have orchestrated this. The question now is, is the biometrics omission just a one-off or is not a strong prequiste for dependent applicant?

Pls all the gurus attention is needed here..Topsmamen,LadyMarshal, Ifeoma and co pls
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by Liz2014(f): 2:02pm On Jun 18, 2019
Thank you.

Topsmamen:

I saw and agree with @ladymarshall's post on this. Let them go ahead and submit their passports. He should also raise a CSE if he has not done that already. It's good that he has done his due diligence and has evidence of emails that he sent.

My guess is that at some point, they will eventually be notified to go for biometrics.

Hi missmoroti how is canada?
If the person is a contract staff I don’t think they would issue a reference letter but if he or she is a professional staff they should be a way with HR...However the person can write his/her JD attach his Id, payslip, and a copy of the email sent from HR stating clearly that reference letters are not issued to staff.

MissMoroti:

Pls can someone help with this? Its for a friend abeg...pls pls pls

Yes...as long as you have paid the WES fee and you've gotten a reference number. Make sure the reference number is indicated on the cover letter or clearly written on a PHOTOCOPY of the certificate.

WES doesn't evaluate MOST professional/job-related courses. They usually require an academic transcript. See this screenshot and link for more. https://www.wes.org/advisor-blog/which-credentials-does-wes-evaluate/

Just a few words of advice/encouragement as you conclude plans to land especially with regards to work settlement.

1. If you decide to continue in your current line of profession& there is a certification for it,please DO IT especially if it can be done from Nigeria. E.g PMP, do it from Naija, Bankers with branch/RM experience, do the CSC exam from naija if possible worse case, plan to take it immediately upon arrival,it goes a loooooong way to help.

2. Search for career events&register if its few weeks to your arrival.

3. If you decide to change your career upon arrival & you haven't started say taking exams etc before arrival, remember you don't expect to be on the same terrain or have the same audience from recruiters here as the person who has started.

4. If you a RM in a Naija bank, remember to change that title to Banking Advisor here because that's what it's called. It soo helps

5. For anyone planning to be a Business Analyst & you have never been one, decide which type of BA (Iat, Operations, Strategy) you want to be,take free courses online to understand the lingo+CBAP

6. Head of Operations/HOP/HSS, pls note you can't be those roles in Canada because it doesn't work like that. What of thinking along the line of Internal Control,Audit,Risk, AML etc?? Just saying!

7. YOU CAN GET A JOB THAT PAYS SAME OR MORE THAN YOU ARE EARNING IN NIGERIA. JUST COMEFULLY ARMED& PREPARED!!

Am sure we have heard most of these things before, however a lot of newly landed still fall into these categories & it hurts gannnn..

#wetheNorth!
God bless!

Estimation for 26th June CRS score distribution based on previous CRS datas:
CRS score distribution of candidates in the Express Entry pool as of May 24, 2019
CRS score range Number of candidates
601-1,200 729
451-600 4,624
441-450 5,872

CRS score distribution of candidates in the Express Entry pool as of May 10, 2019
CRS score range Number of candidates
601-1,200 317
451-600 1,668
441-450 5,360

Means in 14 days from May 10th to May 24th there were about:

601-1,200: (729-317= 412/14days = 29profile/day

451-600: (4624-1668=2957/14days = 211profile/day)

441-450: (5872-5360 = 510/14days = 36profile/day

So, by 29th May, the distribution will be approximately:

600-1200: 729 + 145 (29profile x 5days) = 874

451-600: 4,624 + 1055(211profilex5days ) = 5679

441-450: 5872 + 180(36profilex5day) =6052

Number of nvitation issued on 29th May is 3350. So, the 874profile with 600+points would have all received ITA. (3350-874 =2476)

Remaining 2476 will be taken from 451-600point range. So 5679-2476= 3203.

Therefore, after the invitation round on 29th May,the score distribution would be:

600+ = 0
451-600 =3203
441-450=6052

CRS score distribution of candidates in the Express Entry pool as of June 7, 2019
CRS score range Number of candidates
601-1,200 288
451-600 5,646
441-450 6,315

It means, in 9 days from 29th May to 7th June, there were:

601-1,200 = 32profile/day (288/9)
451-600 =271profile/day(5,646-3203 = 2443/9)
441-450 =29profile/day (6,315-6052=263/9)

By 12th June, the score distribution would be:
601-1,200 =448 (288 + 160(32x5days))
451-600 =7001 (5,646 + 1355(271x5))
441-450 = 6460 (6,315 + 145(29x5))

After the 12th June draw, with only 3350 ITAs issued, the CRS score distribution should be:

601-1,200 = 0 (3350-448=2902)
451-600 = 4,099 (7001 - 2902)
441-450 =6460

By 26th June, the scores will be:

601-1,200 = 448 (32 x14days)
451-600 = 7893 (4099 +(271x14=3794))
441-450 = 6866 (6460+ (29x17=406))

I think cutoff score will still be above 460 for 26th June draw.

Please I am a lawyer and I applied for my WES evaluation but I chose that am a professional which is by virtue of my law school program; which means my evaluation will be based on professional level. Am think if I should change it cos, our law school and theirs are not same or i should leave it. Please I need advice.

Hello Nnee. As your legal colleague and one who has used WES for evaluation, with only LLB, your degree will be assessed as a ‘bachelors degree’ nothing more. However if you add your law school certificate, you will have ‘two or more certificates’.
