I am preparing to take a Luxurious night bus from Abuja to Aba in Abia state. I have already booked the ticket for N5100. The bus is due to depart by 8pm this night. The bus is very new and has air condition(AC). What an enjoyable journey it will be! |

Abuja to Aba After waiting and expecting to go in a new AC bus,an old bus was brought. Every body was shocked because most of us bought the ticket with the assurance by the management that we were going with the new AC bus. We had been taken in by their deception. Even the driver could not so much as look us in the face. We started the journey by 8:25pm. Presently,the bus has reached Gwagwalada and is loading attachment. Time now is 10:09pm |

The bus has started moving from Gwagwalada after loading attachment. There was some misunderstanding and quarrel during the loading between some passengers and the conductor Time now is 10:51pm |

We are somewhere in a thick forest at okpella in Edo state. Every body is complaining that the bus has driven 10 hours but is only in Edo state Time is 6:34am |

From the bus window, I am observing houses in Iddo okpella of Edo state. The road is very narrow. For the last several minutes, we have been driving on this narrow road. Time is 7:02am |

The bus drove via Okpanam Asaba on the benin-asaba highway and reached Asaba. It then went via onitsha-asaba highway and met a terrible hold up lasting more than one hour. The hold up continued via oshimili south LG ,past the sign "way to utchi clan" in Ndokwa east LG of delta state. Hold up continued closed to Niger bridge The bus then climbed the Niger bridge into onitsha. There I saw the river niger flowing from east to west. Arrived onitsha by1:17pm The luxurious bus broke down completely in onitsha forcing some Aba bound passengers to look for alternative way of getting to Aba I am currently in onitsha preparing to go Akwa ibom through Aba |

I left onitsha for Aba by about 5:30pm and the bus passed via obosi near ukwalla kingdom in obosi We drove on the onitsha-owerri double lane road and passed via: oba where I saw ubiagwu village and rojenny village The the sign "Fareware from oba,the land of success" We also drove via the following villages/towns/structures on the double lane onitsha-owerri road: Akwu-ukwu Idimili south LGA Ibolo oraifite The sign 'Fareware from oraifite' ozubulu Eziora ozubulu odozi obolo The signs 'Welcome to Ihemosi' and 'Welcome to obijackson' Ihuoma village okija (a big town) in Ihiala LGA Uli Amorka All the aforementioned towns,villages,structures are in Anambra. These are the ones I could see |

After Amorka in Anambra, we entered the following villages/towns in Imo state such as: Mgbidi (where I bought an Igbo delicacy called Okpa It is like moi moi) otutu Azara ogbaku orlu Mbaitoli orogwe Ireten in owerri west LGA Then we entered owerri owerri is a very fine city These were the ones I could see because of the speeding bus and also because it was already night 1 Like |

There was traffic hold up in some parts of this fine city called owerri From owerri,the bus was going to Abia and went via the double lane Aba road It passed via the following villages/towns on the double lane Aba road in Imo state: ulakwo umuovum umuowa in Ngor okpala LG around 9:06pm Airport junction in umuowa Ihite in Ngor okpala LG umuochiem and umuohiagwu and umudim all in Ngor okpala LG okpala junction. Shortly after okpala junction,there is a bridge. This bridge is a boundary between Imo and Abia Just after this bridge we entered Abia state and the first city in Abia is owerrinta From owerrinta we drove via the following villages in Abia: ugba umuvo umuikaa At umuikaa,the bus turned at the round about and went right through: osisioma Then Aba by 10:33pm. I am presently in Aba to finalize the journey to Akwa ibom tomorrow by GOD's will |

Aba to Uyo journey: I entered bus in Aba by 7am going to uyo. It drove on Ikot ekpene road in Aba via the following villages/towns in Abia: obingwa LGA wherein I saw the following villages in obingwa LGA: Alaoji ukpakiri ohanze umuibe At umuibe,the bus left the highway and entered an untarred village road by the right. It is because a portion of the Aba-Ikot ekpene highway is so bad that motors must divert and pass through the village road. It took us deep into the following villages: umudosi umuokeny umuiroma okealangwa we spent more than an hour in these interior villages, before we came out again on the highway at Nlagu. Then we reached the boundary between Abia and Akwa ibom states. There is a military check point on this boundary. |

After the check point,we entered Akwa ibom state and drove via the following villages/towns in Akwa ibom: Essien udim LGA wherein I saw the following: Ikot Ineme odoro ikot ukana ukana odoro ikot Nsasak afaha Ikot ukpong etor Essien ukana We then entered Ikot ekpene LGA To us from Ikot ekpene LGA,the real name of the LGA is Ikot apene which means "The bush of cassava". Ikot means 3 things namely: (1) People, Ikot Abasi(The people of GOD) (2) Descendant Ikot Otu(The descendant of Otu) (3) Bush Ikot ekpene(The bush of cassava or cassava bush) |

As the bus drove via Ikot ekpene LGA, I saw the following villages/towns enroute uyo(the Akwa ibom state capital): Ntak inyang Ikot osurua Ifuho Ikot udoh Ibiakpan utu ikpe Ikpe ikot akpan Ikpe annang otoro abak Ikot etuk udo Nung udoe itak Ikono LGA Ikot ada idem Ikot osukpong Ikot mbang Then Uyo. Arrived home safely by 10:22am CONCLUSION: All through the journey from Sokoto to Akwa ibom,I only wrote the villages and towns I was able to see and those I know on the road. Of course there are so many villages and towns which I dont know and could not see on the road. Glory be to GOD |

'By and by' according to dictionary means 'soon'. Remember the song that says: 'by and by when the morning comes. When the saints shall be gathered at rest. We will tell the story how we overcome. We will understand it better by and by. That 'by and by' in the song means 'soon'. What i am saying is that i will post the pictures soon. Not that I don't have the wherewithal to buy a solid phone to snap and post pictures therewith. I have the means,but since I am expecting Npower to give us devices, I believe that buying any such phone now would be something of a waste.
