The rate of suicide in Nigeria is on an all time high!

This, I believe is majorly dependent on the pressure the society puts on its populace to succeed. The expectations is very high. This has brought about the "get rich quick" syndrome evident among the teeming youth. With the advent of information technology and social media, the world is literally now a global village. Although globalization has been advantageous to the world at large, it also has its disadvantages.

The extravagant lives and vain "show off" portrayed by celebrities and people on social media has brought about unnecessary and unhealthy comparism/competition amongst the youth to the extent that mundane lifestyles like online fraud (a.k.a yahoo yahoo) is being celebrated and the fraudsters seen as Heroes.

I advocate a change in mindset by our youth. I believe hardwork/smartwork still pays. For Nigeria to move on, we need total overhaul of our lifestyle and reasoning. Its well.
