Why Are Cars Cheaper In Nigeria Than The USA Or Europe? by Peromnia: 3:18pm On May 19, 2019
You will see a car whose arrival cost and duties stood at 3m being sold at 2.3m in Nigeria.

My friend insists it's because some are smuggled while others are accidented.
But even at that, it still doesn't explain the ridiculous rates such cars are sold in Lagos.

Are there things I should know?

ur regular dealers and importers won't buy this type in the picture u posted....

they mostly buy from insurance auctions....crashed,repaired,and way cheaper

that's why they seem cheaper than what u r seeing online

My question in a sentence is : It seems cheaper buying a car in Lagos than buying from the USA or Europe.

It's not cheaper. Do u think a dealer will bring car into Nigeria and sell at a loss? These cars u posted here are clean title with low milieage. The ones dealers bring here are salvaged with high mileage. The 2010 sienna for $13k u posted can be gotten for 3 times less at auctions. A tokunbo 2010 sienna is sold for around N3.5m. If a dealer buy it for $13k plus, after paying for shipping and customs the selling price here will be around 6.5-7m. Can u pay that much for a sienna? I bet most people won't. Unless someone that actually wants a clean title car and such people normally make pre orders and not go to the stand to buy.
