Overcoming the world Part 1

1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Beloved, who is he that overcomes the World? He that is born of GOD and has Faith in Christ Jesus.

1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Beloved, you can only defeat the works of worldly lust and the flesh by your faith in Christ Jesus. Do you want to overcome in this Earth?

Do you want to be victorious in this world of adverse wickedness?

Do you want to be victorious in your day to day life, your spiritual life, business, academics, marriage?

You can only overcome when you have faith in Christ Jesus and been born of GOD. But Beloved, having faith in Christ Jesus is not the end (is not enough). To overcome the world and be victorious, you need to;

1. Have faith in Christ Jesus.
2. Grow in faith: an illustration is planting a seed without watering, it will not grow not to talk of yielding fruits. Likewise Beloved, without daily watering of your faith with the Word of GOD you can't grow in faith.

Therefore, Beloved there is a need to daily water your faith with the Word of GOD. Your faith in GOD is renewed and increases daily when you fellowship with the Word. Make it an habit of consistently, continually and persistently having daily fellowship with the Word of GOD.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Word of GOD keep you deeply rooted in faith. The higher your faith grows, the stronger its roots and the stronger you are in able to overcome. What then can make your faith grow? The Word of GOD. Beloved, now is time for you to build up your faith.

If I am to uproot a mango tree, do you know how difficult it is but if I am to uproot a tomato plant, it is much more easier, why? the tomato plant is not firmly rooted. The deeper you delve into the Word of GOD to nourish your innerman, the stronger your faith in Christ Jesus.

Many believers are easily drawn to the World because they have not dug deeper into the Word of GOD. The deeper, the stronger and the stronger, the greater the chance of overcoming for when the wind and storm of temptations come, you will be able to stand firm. To dig a well, you don't just scratch the surface of the soil, no!!! You persistently and continually keep digging. This is to say as Believers you are to keep digging daily into the Word of GOD continually, persistently, relentlessly and consistently.

Why was Jesus able to overcome?

He is the Word of GOD. The Word of GOD dwelt richly within Him. Jesus has set an example for us that without the Word of GOD, there is no victory. Victory is in the Word of GOD.

Colossians 3:16a Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;

Beloved, make it a daily commitment to dig deep into the Word of GOD daily. Fellowship with the Word that your faith may be deeply rooted and surely then you will be able to overcome the World.

Revelation 12:11a And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;

You will surely overcome by Faith which is deeply rooted through the Word of GOD.
