Another FACT I present, is that during many ages there were witches. The 'Bible' said so. The Bible commanded that they should not be allowed to live. Therefore the Church, after doing its duty in but a lazy and indolent way for 800 years, gathered up its halters, thumbscrews, and firebrands, and set about its holy work in earnest. She worked hard at it night and day during nine centuries and imprisoned, tortured, hanged, and burned whole hordes and armies of witches, and washed the Christian world clean with their foul blood. Then it was discovered that there was no such thing as witches, and never had been. One does not know whether to laugh or to cry. Truly sad.

Tensor, please explain, Deaths in the Bible. God - 2,270,365 not including the victims of Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the many plagues, famines, fiery serpents, etc because no specific numbers were given. Satan - 10.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

You don't know what you're talking about is all I have to say to that. Even studying nature itself would open our eyes to the complete implausibility of the atheists claims. The point is that science itself points unequivocally to the existence and nature of God.

Science does not point to the existence and nature of God. Science offers us an explanation of how complexity arose out of simplicity. The hypothesis of God offers no worthwhile explanation for anything, for it simply postulates what we are trying to explain.

Religious people split into three main groups when faced with science and truth. I shall label them the "know-nothings", the "know-alls", and the "no-contests".

Evident by your answers you are in the category know nothings.

LOL,

Good deflection, as much as I admire debating, it serves no purpose if you fail to answer anything.

I have posted numerous questions on this topic and whilst you comment, you give no answers. In some ways I admire the deluded here as they at least answer questions even at the risk of appearing stupid. You are the worst kind of religious proponent. Debate provokes change, if you believe in God, debating it properly.

Unlike you, that is not that, the door is firmly open to you.

Evidence? Look gentle men Juju exits!!. Bt b4 u dice me,
Its obvious dat ur academic bckgrnds (tensor & Don) has savd u 4rm alot of trbls. Firstly juju has alot of interpretations which are defined by traditions and customs. Sme of our ancestors who couldnt expln certain changes around them used thier own "approach" to solve dis problems. Tak a simpl example, an ashtma patient wld be floged almst to death because they bilivd d patient had an "evil spirit" so they had 2 flog d evil spirit out. There are dozens of other explanations, but since u guys are inteligent, u can understand my point. On dat not u both can easily win ur case. Secondly u hav 2 understand dat juju has difrent lvls of operation far beyond the ignorance of our ancestors. Gentle men, "we are not alone" i knw sine u both are wel educated u wld demand convincing hypothetical claims backed wit emprical facts. Wel unfortunatly u wnt get dat on nairaland. From my own experience! I hav witnesed some juju dat i cld not clearly use my smal scientific background (As a graduate engineering 2 explain). 1. I hav clearly seen a guy use a sharp knife on himself to cut through his stomach but it wont just cut through. 2. Masqurades in my vilage pour water in a basket, but the water wont just pass thru d holes. I wonder wat happend 2 laws of viscosity, gravity and surface tension etc, However this is just another level of juju use for show offs and traditional ceremonies. Now the highest lvl of JUJU is universal, it just has diffnt defintns. Like voodoo, withcraft, etc. In dis level al kinds of evil tins are comited. In nigeria ppl behead children 4 rituals(hey i schld in d north of 9ja) i hav seen pple who were caught and confesd. In d east b4 bakassi boys were relivd of thier duties; they used it to apprehend criminals, The west also practise withcraft (oyinbo JUJU) google that urself LoL!! And u would be amazed wat they can do. I guess u get my drift. But rmbr its a free bliv wat evr u wish to bliv based on anythyn u so DESIRE!! but 4 me i say hav mercy upon me o Lord.! , i don go watch match.

Quote from DonOvero :right now I offer a challenge, anyone, ANYONE who thinks juju exist, use it against me and lets see if it works."

My broda, now you'r talkin. I believe that way, you can be able to tell if juju does exist or not !!!

Whenever you visit Nigeria, ask som1 to take you to a harbalist in Ijebu (there'r harbalists in lagos or east tho). When you get there and the harbalist ask's what you guys came for, then you xplain yourself to him and tell him to prove it right infront of you. I believe that is the only way one can explain it better to you than typin the whole pages of Bible from GEN to REV just to convince you.

I rest my case !!!
Re: What Has Been Your Experience With Juju? by DonOvero: 8:42am On Oct 01, 2010
It seems like a challenge.

I have a friend who is a freelance journalist and does work with the BBC. Let me put together a proposal for a documentary on Nigeria, Nigeria: The search for stupidity.

Summary. A western raised and educated Nigerian seeks to challenge the supposed abilities of the fabled 'Juju'. He explores villages across states speaking to victims of and practitioners of juju. He asks the right questions and lays down the ultimate challenge. £100, 000 to any one who offers sscientificproof of the powers of Juju.

can people please recommend states and Villages where it is prevalent?

^^Yeah! it's a challenge b'cos you called for it. This was what you said initially ~~> Quote from Overo: "now I offer a "CHALLENGE", anyone, ANYONE who thinks "juju exist, use it against me" and lets see if it works."

Why lookin for an Xcuss by callin it a challenge? YES, IT'S A CHALLENGE ! You called for it and you will face that challenge to prove us all wrong that JUJU doesn't exist or else you have made yourself a . . .(You know)? wink

And why must you lay down a certain amount for som1 to offer you a 'SCIENTIFIC PROOF' of juju? undecided Are we talkin about 'Scientific Proof' or are we talkin about if 'JUJU' does exist or not? undecided You said anybody that believe's that juju does exist (not to talk of if it's workin) should use it against you, for you to confirm if it does work or not right? undecided And i gave you an instruction on how to go and try it, now you'r here layin down certain amount for 'SCIENTIFIC PROOF'. angry

Guy, quit being a confused soul, and don't allow those so called scientists that believed that they know more than the GOD that created them to whitewash your brain with their stupidity. Things beyond their imagination has been happenin on these earth before their existence. Abi na dem create demselfs? undecided How come they know everything? undecided

Why am i even debating with someone who has no understanding of the English language. Why do you cover yourself in ignorance.

'it seem like a challenge is a phrase like 'we have a bet'!! In terms of scientific proof, again why bask in stupidity? One cannot test scientifically is someone believes in juju, but you can test if it exists.

By me laying down an amount should be more of an incentive to people to show and prove it works. and what better way to test it scientifically than on me.

Your last paragraph compound you idiocy especially the statement 'abi na dem create themself' instead of throwing silly statements, answer this question and clear up your inconsistency. I imagine like Tensor, your silence will speak volumes.

The universe had to have had a creator because it is so complex. God however has always existed. How is this so?

Take a short cut 2 d other side of life, and wen you get to where GOD is, you ask him that NON-SENSE ques ok? undecided

LOL,

Good comeback. and yet gain you fail to answer. Everytime you write you come across even more uneducated.

I have no problem in people who believe in something but everthing has to have a why and must have a reason. You have neither.

It is clear in several instances in the Judaism scriptures that God commanded, “raping, killings of innocent people and children, having slaves and even sexual slaves.”

Excusing this incredibly obvious immoral/unethical/gut-wrenching sick activity away as God having to work on teaching them basics first, doesn’t hold any water. They are just too extreme/perverse and barbaric for a loving God. I really don’t think God would command killing innocent men because they couldn’t handle higher truths. Come on? It doesn’t make any sense.

It doesn’t take rocket science to figure out that these leaders/prophets (whatever you choose to call them) in the bible are bogus in terms of legitimacy of what they claimed and taught.

If it isn’t clear that this is a flashood by now, and are still rationalising away such disgusting inhumanity, then you can continue to live in fantasy, but it does not amek it real just because you think it is real.

Just because someone believes something to be true, doesn’t make it true in the real world.
