PDP Is Nigeria's Bane – Olapade Agoro .

Saturday, 25 September 2010 04:36 Sakin Babalola   .

Dr. Olapade Agoro is the national chairman, and was the presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC) during the  2007 elections. He told Sakin Babalola  that he would soon formally announce his intention to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party, which he believes has no credible candidate. Excerpts:

On PDP's presidential candidates.

In a decent society where honour dictates the pride of the people, the PDP has no credible characters to contest the presidential race in 2011.

All those that have so far entered the race and those still timidly indicating to run are not credible. They are only out to ruin Nigeria. Or how could one explain the desire of these insatiable corrupt elements to rule Nigeria till eternity?

PDP's reckless mis-governance is there for all to see.

Within the period aforementioned, Nigeria earned a whooping sum of N34 trillion from oil proceeds alone.

This is aside foreign aids and technical assistance the nation got from donor nations, particularly for HIV/AIDS.

Of the 11 years under reckoning, the PDP controlled National Assembly members, being the most expensive legislators in the whole world, where they squandered billions of naira.

Unfortunately for Nigeria, President Jonathan, who is seeking the National Assembly's approval to take a foreign loan of US$ 5 billion, has without good nationalistic reasoning placed orders for two Falcon X aircraft at the cost of US$102 million and at the same time a Gulf stream at the cost of US$ 53.3 million.

On Power Generation

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo invested a whooping sum of about US$ 12 billion on power generation facilities but failed woefully to meet the promised target of 1,000 MW delivery till he left office on May 2009.

Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, who took over from him, also promised to deliver 6,000 MW before the end of 2008 but half of which target he could not meet till he died in office.

Goodluck Jonathan, who later came in to reap the benefits of investments on power sector, has failed to physically lift the production and delivery target beyond, 3000 MW.

Jonathan's power sector reform is to invest additional US10 billion on generation, transmission and distribution to abysmally generate only 5,000 MW before 2013.

This means that the ugly power generation situation will have to be the same as usual till sometime in 2013 for a nation fooling itself to be among the world best 20 economies by year 2020.

The truth shall remain that Goodluck Jonathan's plan for the power sector has nothing in it for Nigerians than failure and productivity uncertainty.

How on earth would a leader who can- not guarantee service delivery talk of increasing tariff on the already battered populace?

Education and Instability

Due to the fact that Nigeria has no known and real education plan, it has been moving one step forward and ten steps backward with its successive regimes.

It is no news that a lot of foreign institutions pay a lot to advertise for our youths to leave the shores of Nigeria to study and suffer in foreign lands and cultures.

It is much of a joy to Nigerian families for any of their members to win a visa lottery to slavery in foreign land.

It is no gainsaying that almost all of the children of our government officials study in foreign institutions.

Hospitals and Health Care Delivery

It is disheartening to assess the standard of our hospitals and health care delivery system as facts are placed before all to see.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the president between 1999-2007 spent almost a good part of his time visiting foreign hospitals for his health care, while Stella his good wife died in a German hospital receiving treatment.

Former vice president, Abubakar Atiku made nonsense of the hospitals in Nigeria, when after merely having a minor fracture to one of his legs, he flew out to a foreign hospital for treatment.

Former military president, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida shamelessly waited and slept by the side of Maryam his good wife in a US hospital till she died.

Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua made his home in foreign hospitals, receiving treatments for his ailments till he died.

The fact remains that if these people had made life good and comfortable for the people they were destined to lead and wisely invested in Nigeria's hospitals and health care delivery system, they would not have had cause to waste time and resources in foreign hospitals, shamelessly finding help where they need not have been.

Security Situation in The Country

With the menace of Boko Haram, increase in the number of hired assassins and kidnappers, armed robbery and political thuggery, the security situation in the country is worsening.

The nation is dangerously at the lowest ebb of insecurity.

Sports Development

Records abound that  since PDP fraudulently came to usurp power, Nigeria has not achieved any noticeable global feat in any field of sport endeavours.

It has been one failure, performance disaster or the other.

Unfortunately, Nigerian sports sector is now bedeviled by corruption.

This is because the current Nigerian leadership has failed to see sports far beyond recreation. It is now a veritable tool for economic and global political power.

What other message can one get from that of Goodluck Jonathan who without deep knowledge of the game, came with the sledge on the head of football, banning Nigeria from international sporting activities for two years as a result of Nigeria's woeful performance at the World Cup in South Africa 2010 .

Although he was timely forced to reverse that unwise decision, it was enough to tell a baby from adult in the field of political reasoning and wisdom.

Offer to Serve the Nation and Good People of Nigeria.

I have the urge to serve because the PDP leadership has been variously linked with corruption and there must be a change.

We must aggressively and positively correct past  neglect and the decadence to which bad leadership has led Nigeria. Let's make the nation's industries work to a maximum productivity and profitability level, to provide jobs for the nation’s teeming unemployed youths and give life back to Nigeria. And together we shall make Nigeria great

Even Jesus will fail to move Nigeria forward under the PDP. Every mafia/cabal that will frustrate the progress of Nigeria has prominent PDP members in their rank. They may wan't to decieve Nigerians by laying low now but as soon as we gain another PDP President in 2011 the rampant looting , corruption and shameless misrule , that typifies the PDP, will begin . We saw all this with Yar Adua's "servant leader" nonsense. As soon as he became President , Aondoakaa became AGF and his first action was to neuter the EFCC and set events in motion to free Ibori (Yardy's campaign sponsor) of over a 100 charges of theft and corruption !!

All parties are corrupt. APGA and ANPP have been turn apart by financially induced battles. ACN is led by a man who is much worse than Ibori, and there is documentary proof.

Tinubu ran heroin ring in US, says Drug Agency .

Dotun Oladipo

Contrary to denials, the Nigerian Compass yesterday learnt that the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) confirmed that a former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Bola,

Ahmed Tinubu, ran a heroin ring in the country; was convicted, though with an option of fine; and was actually quizzed last month while entering into the country.

@Beaf,

What is it again? is there no end to you. You realy think that PDP is better than ACN right? Well this time around you have hung yourself with the way you think.

Tinubu according to you is worse than Ibori, meanwhile your Ijaw leader will not rest until he puts Ogridigbodigbo in a bird cage.
Now let us take roll call of Big Thieve and killers

1: Ibori
2: IBB
3: Atiku
4: Anenih
5: Saraki
6: Uduaghan

7: Sylva
Just to name but a few. The list is endless

Indeed . A man who left prison virtually broke is now one of the richest individuals in Africa ,with a garish hilltop mansion to match that of IBB, and we are to believe he is clean while the likes of Bode George should be in jail?

Nigerians should look no further , for proof of Jonathan's PDP misruling tendency, than how Gbenga Daniel was actually announced as Jonathan's zonal coordinator for the south West right right in the middle of the illegal impeachment imbroglio in Ogun State. Gbenga Daniel would have been firmly put in his place by any half-decent Nigerian President who understands his responsibility to lead Nigeria fairly and efficiently , without fear or favour, always. What happened to the corruption case against Ogbulafor since he stepped down? What has become of the EFCC's 'shakara' of some State since some Governors (like Amaechi) have now pledged support for Jonathan? The PDP is all about partisan enrichment and ludicrous protection of its criminal members . No other political Party , while they are not perfect, comes close to the PDP in criminaltiy, corruption and callousness.

@Orangeman,

No vex, I hadnt drank my morming coffee, I knew u would come in and complete the list. Lets not forget the pillar of thief-thief Odili. There serious arguments in certain quarters that he rivalled Ibori. But I doubt it, the whole crop is rotten to the core and I fail to see how one good seed can come out of there.

Pdp is never Nigeria's problem, pdp do not have strong opposition. lack of integrity, commitment, patriotism etc by other party members is Nigeria's proble, have u ever seen other party members cross to pdp to contest but pdp faithfulls cross over, pick ticket easilly, win then return to pdp. But the best is to stop cross carpeting by politicians there we will have strong opposition.
