Avoid living on the offensive side of life - expediency - instead strive to always live on the defensive side of life - altruism - and always balance your defensive life with a strong midfield material - conscientiousness.

Actually, living on the offensive side of life is always fast rewarding and pleasurable, while it lasted, but the end is always catastrophic, 99% of the time.

Meanwhile, living on the defensive side of life alone without a strong midfield material isn't encourageable - because of the cruelness of people of the offensive leaning who make up more than 95% of the world population - unless you are dealing with either a fellow of the defensive leaning or one of the defensive leaning with a strong midfield material. I cannot overemphasize the importance of PATIENCE for those who are actively putting legitimate work in and not lazy people with a sense of entitlement.
