The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, commemorates with children as the world celebrates Children’s day.

Saraki took to Twitter today to pen down his heartwarming affections and commitment to making Nigeria a better a place for them.

He also sent his prayers to Leah Sharibu who has been in Boko Haram custody for over 1 year as well as other children subjected to kidnapping and hardship.

The Senate President also expressed the commitment of the National Assembly in providing basic primary healthcare and the domestication of the Childs Rights Act in all Nigerian states so that they can lead healthy lives.

He also shared heartwarming pictures of his various encounters with children.

He said,

"Today, our nation celebrates its future — our children; our most important national treasure. As we do so, we recommit ourselves to ensuring that all Nigerian children are empowered to aspire to achieve greatness.

"On #ChildrensDay2019, we remember Leah Sharibu, and all other young Nigerian children who will be commemorating this important day without their loved ones. We commit them into our prayers and continue to call for their unequivocal release.

"Over the last 4-years, @NASSNigeria has worked fervently towards ensuring the provision of basic primary healthcare and the domestication of the Childs Rights Act in all Nigerian states — so that young Nigerian Children can live healthy, violence-free lives. #ChildrensDay2019
