God Punish Any State Govt That Introduces ''Sanitation Day'' To A City. by Rossikk(m): 12:10am On Jun 02, 2019 |
I heard some state govt, Lagos perhaps, is re-introducing the defunct ''sanitation day exercise'' in which citizens are forced to undertake the gory spectacle of digging dirt from filthy open gutters, and 'sweeping' streets hopelessly engulfed in sand. God punish them!! Why should we have OPEN GUTTERS AT ALL IN THIS DAY AND AGE? THAT is the real question. If you build the roads and streets the right way, with covered drains and sidewalks, there would be no need to CLEAN GUTTERS and do ''weekly sanitation''. The street below needs no ''sanitation day'' or gutter cleaning, because it was built the CORRECT WAY. Every couple of evenings a sweeping truck passes by to gather any rubbish on the road. Finish. The road doesn't have a single grain of sand on it. Because it was built the CORRECT way. Where will the sand come from? All these so-called governors travel abroad all the time. Many of them schooled abroad. Yet they come back with this nonsense about open gutters and ''sanitation day'' instead of replicating what they see there HERE. IDIOTS. 10 Likes 1 Share |

orion7: Honestly bro, I just don't know we we like making things difficult for ourselves in this country. Build the roads well and you won't need to be disturbing people to do any stupid sanitation exercise. I laugh when I hear people talking about promoting ''tourism'' in Naija. VERY FEW TOURISTS go to places where the streets are not like the above posted. Who wants to travel to wahala and stinky open gutters and sandy roads? Rubbish. 1 Like |

Rossikk: Think well, sanitation is not for sand only, Lagos is over populated with different kind of person who don't care. Dranages will be block by pure and bottle water stuff if such is not implemented Those countries have laws that restrict every act, moreover CCTV is everywhere watching everybody who do anyhow How many people in Lagos will u ask to put nylon inside dustbin. Once again, think twice 1 Like |

LamidicownuBSS: The point is that the drainage should be COVERED drainage, which is the norm aross the world. We are practicing a barbaric and savage system of drainage that has us peering into open gutters and having to clean them of filth. That is UNNECESSARY in any serious society. 2 Likes |

I was disappointed when I saw the construction going on at iwo road Ibadan, as wide as the drainage is, it's still wild open, it now make the massive road look useless to me, no beautification at all |
