I wont live in Rivers for a 1 million dollars.

Kidnapping HQ of FRN.

Akwa Ibom is still calmer and more serene.
I don't remember anyone asking for any inconsequential nuisance.
Like you even have anything to offer to Rivers State.

[s]Before now during ameachi era as a governor, river state was regarded as the capital of south south both politically and economically.
[/s]

The above first paragraph put you out as a BMC and Amaechi's sycophant! Amaechi in 8yrs didn't do half of what Wike did in 4yrs! If you want to dispute this fact, state what Amaechi did for Rivres State!!

Rivers State being known as Garden City and the undisputed capital of southsouth dates back to Pre-1999!!

This thread is more like a good news for all of us that Nigeria is not just about Lagos and Abuja. Other places too in the Country are now developing and competing. This is good and that is what we want. If we look at it very well Akwa Ibom has tried in terms of infrastructure. There are some infrastructure in Uyo that PH does not have. Uyo is really developing and its high time we acknowledged that. There is even an underground pipe jacking drainage system there which is the first in Africa built by Akpabio. The e-library at Uyo is the first in West Africa. It will interest us to know that a whole President of Ghana, Mahama came to Nigeria some years back. He didn't visit Abuja or Lagos but Akwa Ibom. He was received at the Airport in Uyo. He saw wonders in Uyo and went back to invest into infrastructure development in Ghana. He saw the roads, flyovers, e-library and co and was amazed. So what are we saying? Nigeria is really developing. Guys let's be wise, every Oil producing state capital should look like Uyo and PH. Leaders matters. Even if Akpabio and Udom stole, they still tried to develop the state. Look at Abia, Delta and co... nothing to write home about.

To me we now have four cities in Nigeria that can compete now. The ranking is below

1. Abuja

2. Lagos

3. Port Harcourt

4. Uyo

These are the four best cities in Nigeria today. We are waiting for Enugu, Calabar, Owerri, Warri, Ibadan and Kaduna to join them sooner. Every Governor should work and make his capital city great. Akure till today has no flyover. Ado-Ekiti now has one. May God help our leaders.

Don't deceive yourself or others. Akwa Ibom doesn't have it all and still has a very long way to go to compete with lagos in terms of infrastructure, economy, jobs.

However, negatively, Akwa Ibom is fast competing with lagos in areas of overcrowding, traffic jams, street hawkers taking over roads around plaza, Ikot Ekpene, Abak, Oron and Aka Road, poor housing and light supply etc.

Akwa Ibom has nothing. How many times is the stadium used in a year?

You forgot to add worlds largest fertilizer plant based in EPCL in Eleme and one of Africa's largest syringe factory!

jamesversion:
Akwa Ibom is not in same league as Rivers. There is no need to debate it. What Rivers has in economic infrastructure, Akwa Ibom can only dream and hope.

1) NLNG plant

2) 2 of Nigerias 4 refineries

3) Indorama Petrochemicals plant

4) FLT and FOT Onne

5) A true international airport

6) OIL and Gas free trade zone.

7) HQ/Operational area of Shell, Agip, Total/Elf.

These alone gives Rivers so much edge over Akwa Ibom. The IGR of Rivers (over N100B) speaks for it.

Even akwa ibom is under achieving for its wealth. Their leadership is still average to me.

Akwa ibom, Delta, Rivers, Abia.

If I handle any of these sleeping states, you wouldn't believe your eyes.

They have enough resources for me to work with.
Then give us step by step information on how you are going to do it.

Akwaibom is simply blessed with good leaders.

Instead of ikpeazu of abia state to imitate them he will kill himself because abia leaders have vow to share everything among themselves.

Abia Secondary School Teachers are currently on strike because Okezie Ikpeazu has refused to pay them 9 months salary... Abia is dead under IKPEAZU

more population of people flooding into the state equal to more revenue for the government.

In the next 20 years of things keep going good for the state, I believe it will surpass Lagos state
See your mumunity .If it takes you 20 years to be like present Lagos, where are you now? By the time your land is like Lagos your dream home, Lagos us already like the most developed part of Europe/America.
Secondly may God let una dream come true so that yeebos can finally go home cos na them like to die for other people land.At least we yorubas can now enjoy our Lagos.
Thirdly, I'll advise akwa Ibom not to allow yeeebos too much freedom o, lest they say Akwa Ibom is no man's land.

Bla bla bla bla bla bla. Lots of companies left Rivers, why? When? Are the companies leaving Rivers or Nigeria in general? I can count how many companies left Lagos and Nigeria entirely during buhari's first tenure. Please mention one company that left Trans amadi due to insecurity, just one.

Nobody is begging your ilk to stay.
Benteroine:
All of you saying Rivers state is better are either blind or stack raving mad! When a lot of companies are leaving rivers state because of the insecurity. Go to trans Amadi and see the empty properties that were once occupied by companies. Rivers will soon be like Delta. I'd rather live in Borno than to stay in Rivers. Tueh!!

As someone who have lived in both states, Uyo is an upcoming star, but still not up to the level of PH.
There's nothing special currently in Uyo besides good roads.
You hardly hear or see people go to AKS/Uyo to search for greener pastures as compared to PH.

Yes Uyo is developing but still not at the level of ph.
Because Singapore is new and sparkling does not mean it's better than London. Just that as Nigerians most of us have a layman's reasoning.

It's only Igbos that carry it for head, you can tell igbos in south south like ikwerre and delta north to join you people in south east but Ibibio, ijaw annang etc will never join igbos again

They will never join but they dwell with us and share same ideas with us... Do you see how foolish you are? Keep killing yourself for something that will never be part of you... Eastern Nigeria for life. Biafra land.

Ah swear... some Nigerians can't actually differentiate between growth and development. Economic sustainability of States, Infrastructure like roads and bridges or how beautiful a city looks doesn't mean its developed, industrialised, Economic viable asf. Uyo is still coming up,
