Exposed! Godwin Obaseki in Multi-Billion Dollar Modular Refinery Fraud & Abuse of Office: (Chronic debtor and international fraudster Mike Osime fingered in Deal) - Efosa igbinovia
 
These are not the best of times for the great people of Edo State as their governor, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki is embroiled in another fraud of monumental proportion. 
 
 
According to reliable sources quoted last week, Governor Obaseki entered a fraudulent deal with his good friend Mike Osime- chairman of ICMG Securities (and one of Nigeria greatest corporate fraudster), who brought the idea of a 5,000bpd modular refinery to be located in Ikpoba Okha local government area to Obaseki. 
 
Mike Osime presented a series of fake investors under the name of “Peiyang Chemical Company” and “Sinopec Oil”. After much media parade, the MOU governor in his usual nature, enter another MOU to build the refinery that was meant to contribute to the phantom 200,000 jobs promise. 
 
This MOU came after no less than 5 travels, which the state governor spent tax payer money to sponsor no fewer than 15 people (including the entire family of Mike Osime) to China for state visits each time. 
 
Immediately after this MOU and despite several warnings from his commissioners and advisers (especially EDSOGPADEC, Joseph Ughioke, Commissioner for Minerals and Agric Special Adviser, Joe Okogie who warned the governor against using public funds for a private business), Obaseki is said to have ignore this warnings and ordered two transfers to be made immediately. 
 
The first amount in the sum of 480 million Naira was transferred via state voucher in 2018, while another some of 590 million was transferred a few weeks later. So far, more than 1.2 billion naira has be given to Mike Osime, with no single evidence of any refinery or any work anywhere in Edo State.  
 
Diverting state funds for a private refinery project owned by his friend, serial debtor and fraudster Mike Osime have connived with the Governor to raise more fund from state treasury for this illusion of a refinery. This is the same Mike Osime who was owing banks trillions of Naira as one of Nigeria’s biggest debtors suddenly got a new lease of life from his friend and counterpart- Governor Godwin Obaseki (who owns 45% of the refinery). 
 
Up to today, no single grass has been cut on the land not to talk of any activity for building the refinery. In fact, there is no single proposal, no company profile of the company and yet more than 1 billion in the state that is poor has been given to his friend. The government have swept the matter under the carpet and the people of Edo who’s tax was taken to commit this fraud are still suffering but not smiling any more. 
 
The posturing of anti-corrpution by Godwin Obaseki has descended to the theatre of the absurd with the brazen impunity displayed by this governor without recourse to anyone or institution of goverment. 
 
On April 17, 2017, EFCC officials armed with information invited the governors aids for questioning and many pleaded ignorance. An unimpeachable source hinted that the EFCC is only waiting for Godwin Obaseki tenure to end next year in 2020 to pick him up for questioning. 
 
It is a tragic incident when custodian of the people’s trust abuse it with wanton disregard for the poor and suffering masses. 
 
We hereby call on Mr. President, President Muhammadu Buhari who claims to be a staunch supporter of anti-corruption to ensure the full investigation of this matter so that all corrupt persons no matter how highly placed are made to face the law. Only when this is done will it serve as a warning and deterrent to other people.

Rt Hon. Odubu who is the former deputy Governor of the state.who also contested a former house of reps,who has also indicated interest to contest against the failed Godwin Obaseki Administration.

Chris Ogiewonyi who was once managers in both the downstream sectors of NNPC and also a former contestant.who several forums said he will still contest again, because he believes the dreams he has for every Edo state citizens must come to reality.

Dr Prof F.Ebegue Amadasun who is one of the foremost and distinguished medical consultant in Edo state,he was also the former chairman Edo state Hospital Management Board,who in his tenure the prestigious new blocks was added to the central hospital, he was also a contestant before,but not yet indicated strong interest if he will be running again.but the group believe he is one dynamic astute leader who can pilot the affairs of the state and give Edo people hope for a better tomorrow.

Gen.Charles Ariavberie one of the finest Edo state born military man,who has distinguished himself in his spheres of influence is also in the race, he believe he has a mandate to fulfil to edo people hence he is going to contest again.

Hon.Samson Momorin he is one of the new men in the race,he is the coordinator the masses eyes. He has been in the fore front challenging this government on their various promises to Edo people which the government has failed to fulfil.
He made his intention known in a media broadcast early this year that he will be contesting for the seat of the number 1 citizen of the state to bring the desired change Edo people want.

 Hon Saturday Uwelikwe he is a new man to the game,he is the former Nddc commissioner of Edo state. He believe that the government of the day has failed his people, that the promises made during election after 3 and half years none have materilized
He made his intention known to the party after a meeting with the local government exco of the party and encourage them to tell those who is not hear
That everyone must put hands on deck to support him in this bid.

The group believes with these great men the mantle of leadership should not be difficult to change and that the arrogance display by G.Obaseki,suiabu,ogie and others is enough,
That if the national party wants to retain this state as APC then Obaseki must go.
