Lizzysamuel:
A LIB reader who claims to be close to the situation said the woman has a mental illness and was being taken to the Psychatric hospital in Yaba after she had a relapse.

The husband was reportedly interrogated at the Itire Police Station and was released when the police were convinced no crime had been committed.

The woman is reportedly now at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, receiving treatment for her mental ailment while the husband is also in the same hospital receiving treatment after he suffered an eyelid laceration while being battered by passersby who thought he was a ritualist.

2 of them dey Hospital Recebing Treatment for different diseses..lol

A police escort, a nurse and most definitely an ambulance would Have prevented this whole mess. If it's true.

Say the poor guy was transporting her to hospital, what way of restraint would you have suggested?

I have seen 4 men try to subdue one mad woman before!
She was crying all the while they wanted to kill her. Even when she got to hospital, it took jab upon jab before she was was sedated.

Crase is not a simple something!
Don't mind the stupid fellows. When I saw the news in the previous thread, I guessed it might be psychiatric case.
We believe too much in superstitions in this part of the world.

You think you are in the abroad?

And police escort to transport an insane patient?!

Tell the people that got lynched after being accused of stealing Penis (by touch) to always go around with police escort

Einstein!

When you see a violently insane person, leave them and start looking for ambulance, so that when you get back they have killed someone or themselves.

They don't restrain insane people in hospital?

Again, only in a ZOO would someone think it normal that even a violent mental patient (even though neither of the 2 news stories said ANYTHING about her being "violent" ) would be trussed up like livestock and bundled into the back of a car with her baby in the front seat (apparently headed NOWHERE near a hospital). Anyway, cannot blame folks who are apparently limited by their environment. SMH

Assuming he wanted to use them for rituals, was that the best way to convey them? undecided

Wouldn't know, since I do NOT do rituals (nor believe in them), but perhaps you have some expertise in the area to share with the rest of us. My LIMITED point was that's NOT the way to treat/transport a mentally-ill patient. The primitive mindset of many Nigerians in respect of mental illness is downright disgraceful. Someone on this thread has already equated mental illness with "violently insane"! SMH

The man should have gotten a police escort. It would have saved him all the embarrassment and bodily harm.
His wife probably a schizophrenic relapsed and became violent, he finally manages to restrain her with ropes and in the frenzy of the confusion decides to take her to the hospital as soon as possible but you are of the opinion that he also should have got a police escort because he knew his wife's drama will catch the attention of the passersby and he would end up almost lynched.

Are you saying it's until 5 years time the previous one he did expires? Anyways, if that's the case, it's better they both separate instead of a mental imbalance house wife starts suspecting her husband of Rituals. undecided
Separate because the wife is mentally ill?

Which kind of fair weather husband will you be[or are]?

says someone who was about to get her husband Lynched you should know what she is capable of... her condition may require that. what if she tired to jump out of the car what if she tried to bite off her husband's ear

Hahahaha!
Can you suggest what he should have done when his wife relapsed?

I know someone who eviscerated his mother when he relapsed!
The gory video is online!

So tying his wife's hands ( hands alone) is barbaric?

You have not seen madness before is why you are running your mouth.

Mind you restraint is either physical or chemical, what is most important is preventing harm to the person or people around!

If she was not going to harm herself or others, she wouldn't have been bound!

What was most important was transferring her to hospital, without her harming herself or others.

By binding her hands, they didn't commit any crime-- anywhere in the world, if anybody is a risk or at risk, you restrain that person.

Come on, so after 7 years with your wife and she develops a mental illness. You will just separate from her? Who will take care of her in that state in Nigeria with no medical asylums.

When I saw the video, I know something is wrong with the narration of the woman, I was thinking the woman had a quarrel with her husband and decided to accuse him of using her and their kids for ritual to get back at him. But why are we as a people swift in carrying out jungle justice?

With how that guy was lynched, an ambulance wouldn't have been too much to get to prevent what he went through .

Our mindset needs to change . Not being in the abroad isn't enough reason to behave inhuman or animal like.

Let's start challenging the mindset of others by doing the right thing in decent ways

How do you call for an ambulance, what number?
When will it get to you, if it would?
My dear, if your loved one is dying (in Nigeria), carry him into any available vehicle and run to hospital!

Bro, where do you live that ambulances are unavailable or seem farfetched
A nurse nko?

Doctor's report explaining why they had to tie her up?

A police report would suffice too.

Come on.!

That husband and his brother escaped death by an inch.

Even so called educated Nigerians do things that beggars belief.
