CHARACTERISTICS OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSERS
Having seen that the defilement of children is a major problem facing the Nigerian society, here are some characteristics of these abusers. They include;

They could be anybody:
It is pertinent to understand that any adult could be a child abuser.
There is no physical characteristic, appearance, profession, or personality type that all child abusers share. Child abusers can be of any sex or race, and their religious affiliations, occupations and hobbies are as diverse as anyone else's. A child abuser may appear to be charming, loving, and completely good-natured while harboring predatory thoughts that he or she is adept at hiding.

Family members like mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, stepparents, etc., may also be sexual predators. Young or old, of any gender, rich or poor, professional or not, they could be anybody.

Although the great majority are males, females are not left out of such possibility. Unfortunately, some abusers are professionals who are entrusted with educating or maintaining the health and well-being of young children, while others are entrusted with children to whom they are related by blood or marriage.
