It will still fall when on bad roads, d whole vehicle will fall with it.
Don't think they are falling because of bad roads but because they are not properly secured. Nigeria is basically putting containers on the back of flat bed trucks when in advanced nations the trailer is bought with an enclosed container that cannot be removed cause it's permanently attached to the frame.

Why can't this containers be welded permanently to the trucks and the goods inside are loaded and unloaded through the rear door, how is this so complicated to be carried out when it is not rocket science.
while everyone else dwelled on the problem and wailed... You're the only person that came up with a solution. Not just a solution, a smart one!!
You are the type of Nigerians I love meeting.
Kudos.

Avoidable deaths. Families would be made to grieve needlessly.

When laws ought to be passed for containers to be latched or fined 500k and if fined five times forfeit the truck.

This is the litmus test for the new governance in Lagos. Its time for smart decisions and smart laws been passed smartly. No more excuses

All containers must be latched and should be subjected to tests once every six months to push out unfit haulage trucks off the road.

If we see an unfit truck on the road, its purely a gasket, gaskia. No need to wait for accidents. Get unfit trucks off the road

Latched and confirm to its towing weight

Authorities are only eager to steal. They don't bother about regulations enforcement unless they are able to take bribe and let the offenders go.

That's why you see them brandishing guns at (minor) traffic offenders while key safety issues like this are ignored.
Re: Container Falls On Multiple Vehicles At Tincan, Apapa, Lagos (Disturbing Photos) by Nobody: 2:21am On Jun 16, 2019
People need to start driving away from all these killer trucks called containers. Or if in traffic and the killer truck is on either side of your vehicle, best thing is to evacuate till the killer truck is gone.

Lagos state government needs to sanction owners and drivers of the containers if not latched. 15 yrs jail term, seize the truck, and hefty fine #50, 000,000.

Lagos state government needs to act fast. This is appalling. Wasting innocent lives. Shame

Dredge River Niger, open up more ports, and decongest Lagos, dem no go gree.
Everywhere in Lagos is container., and so with all the traffic congestion and bad roads, why won't containers fall and kill people? Mtcheww
Every time we keep lamenting and yet keep voting in useless politicians. Is this country jinxed
I finally saw someone that have sense....I was actually looking for this in the comments. this is just the true solution but because of tribalism and nepotism, they don't want to decongest Lagos by opening more ports

Please note that this is a federal road

Buhari has nothing to offer except propaganda and traveling..

A man who is so empty inside out
He had to name the National Stadium built by OBJ after MKO because he hasn't built a block... Only trading blames..

Buhari is evil personified
Death everywhere... Kidnapping everywhere
Fulani herdsmen everywhere.. Boko Haram everywhere... Isis has joined the party
Nigeria is doomed
So Buhari is the cause of the accident? Why don't you listen to yourself when you a speaking or writing this piece of nonsense? If the govt starts seizing these trucks from our roads, it's people like you that would be shouting "what would the owner and drivers eat" Up and down.

it is not just been latch but the vehicles themselves should be in top shape. and the roads should be in good conditions. if it is just latching, many still fall over with the tires facing the sky cause of bad roads and rickety vehicles especially the ones with full loads and can fall over at the slightrst tilt

You see the thing about demanding for nothing from your so called leaders is this:Things will continue getting worse until total anarchy ensues. The absurd, the bizarre and the ridiculous has been normalized in Nigeria. This particular case will not make major news tomorrow. Its already forgotten.

I ask myself

What can happen for millions of Nigerians to take to the streets and DEMAND decent governance from the officials/politicians?

You cant be calling GOD to come and fix a man made problem that has countless man made solutions if these people can do the BAREST minimum they have been elected or appointed to do.

All this is coursed by greed, obasanjo refused to allow container enter through any other state except Lagos..

Nigeria need to decentralized Cago coming into the country to come in through 4 or 5 states, that would have released Lagos of this mad container traffic but no Yoruba and gree, and the hatred for the Igbo to succeed is something else.
