Another grand design to siphon and loot the nation's resources by the police.

If they are serious about it, the cameras should be mounted alongside with network masks.

I hope is not another level to steal again. China loan loading.

Procuring CCTV is a welcome development. I hope they use it well.

On the other hand, methinks that the FG should procure body cameras for all officers. That way, the flagrant abuse of power by the police will cease.
Thanks for pointing this out, Been actually thinking why the government can't think of something like this to reduce police maltreatment and molestation

Where is the electricity or is it generators that will power the cctv?

Faithway10:
The state of insecurity in the country has prompted the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, to begin urgent plans to install “closed-circuit television (CCTVs) and other cutting-edge technologies in major cities in the country for city surveillance”.

Adamu made the disclosure on Monday while reviewing the security situation in the country for the past one month with senior police officers in Abuja.

In addition to installing CCTVs, so as to enhance the fight against criminality, the IGP disclosed that there are “plans directed at re-organising and re-launching the Safer Highway and Safer City Models of Policing which will entail the acquisition of new fleet of vehicles that will be deployed to dominate the public space”.

This plan is bound to fail. Instead of wasting money to install cctv which will eventually be stolen let every junction in nigeria have a police van with 2armed police men on standby with day and night shifts.
Re: Insecurity: Police To Install Cctvs Nationwide by lastmessenger: 11:00am On Jun 18, 2019
State police is the only way out.
We are talking of people who come at night to kill people and destroy farmlands, attack a whole village while people are asleep.

You don't start building a house from it's roof, you start from the foundation.

CCTvs is not the first step, such can't work in a country like this.

You just want to waste the country's limited resources again, you fcktaaards!

This country is moving back in time, we're still stuck in 1915.

Ahhhhaaaa believe me this plan would not materialize because DPO's Would first install in their house Then police wouldn't want to be caught on camera collecting Roger.

Re: Insecurity: Police To Install Cctvs Nationwide by Mcreloaded(m): 11:27am On Jun 18, 2019
Why not install CCTV cameras in your police station nation wide first because I have heard situation where police station is invades by criminals.

Secondly releasing more vehicles for patrol will make the police to take more bribe of N20 from motorist because the policemen have to fuel and maintin the vehicles.

Better still make arrangement for fuelling and maintainnce of police vehicles in each state command then and maybe then there will be hope of police not taking bribe.
