Hi Guys, please I just bought a tokunbo car after selling my former car, i did not sell it with my plate number, I will like to know if it is safely possible to use the former plate number. New plate number is like 42k or so, perhaps I can update the details of the former one to save cost, I got two opinions already 1, It is not possible , they will only lie to you to collect your money, but if check system dem no change anything, I was advised to do a new plate number. 2, It is possible, try find out for nairaland from people wey don do am before, to know the cost and procedure. Please guys kindly advice and guide me, appreciate |

Retaining your old number plate for use on your tokunbo car is the right thing to do but is it worth it? IMO it is not worth it because the cost of reregistration and obtaining a new number plate is almost the same. |

When i was still doing the car biz as a side hustle, i could guess from your number plate the exact year you registered the car. I avoided cars that were used or registered for more than 3 years. I am sure there are other guys that are like this, so i think a new number plate is better. My opinion though! |

Ok, the former car was just 4 month that I register it before I sold it, so I shouldn't use the registration plate again |
