The Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Diocese, Most Rev. Mathew Ndagoso-Manoso, has lamented the lack of government presence in some communities in Borno State, saying that some communities depend on Boko Haram for essential services.

Ndagoso-Manoso spoke at a church service conducted at the Our Lady’s Parish in Kaduna to mark the beginning of the Annual General Meeting of the Nigeria Catholic Diocesan Priests’ Association.



The AGM, holding at the Catholic Social Centre in the state capital, has the theme, ‘The Imperative of Good Governance for a Secure and Prosperous Nation.’

The Catholic archbishop urged the priests to discuss frankly security challenges in the country.

While noting that the theme of the AGM was apt, the bishop lamented the disturbing insecurity in the country.

This, he said, was due to the lack of the presence of government and good governance in certain parts of the country, particularly the North-East.

“Insecurity starts from where there is absence of government. The absence of government in certain parts of the country has brought us to where we are today. Our problem has always been the management of resources of the land,” he added.

He claimed that Boko Haram had taken advantage of the lack of government’s presence in the North-East to render essential services to communities in the area.

This, he said, portend danger for the country against the backdrop of the Federal Government’s fight against terrorism.

He said, “Something is happening right now whether the government knows or not; it is that the splinter group of the Boko Haram is providing services to communities in Borno.



“They are collecting taxes because of the absence of government. This is dangerous.”

Catholic priests drawn from the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory are currently meeting in Kaduna over rising cases of kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry and general insecurity in the country.

i can still remember how these boko haram started by killing only Igbos in north,
then they and their friends from waste were happy shouting kill them all,the way they were shouting kill all igbo youths during the operation python dance by the terrorist army.tomorrow If these same terrorist army start killing them,they will start expecting us to sympathise with them.

I can still remember how one of my hard headed uncle was force to come down to east around 2013.
He told us how boko haram are been lead by youths of the village,going from house to house,shop to shop where igbos are living and doing business.
First he did not agree to come back to east until when his best friend over there was killed in his house with his servant.that was when he left north leaving only his sells girl who is an hausa to sell off all the remaining goods.

Thank God he is doing fine here in east now.

I also remember what he told us how boko haram lead by the youth of the village(these are the people they know and always dash money)killed an igbo man in his shop,then later igbo men in that area gathered to plan how to bring back the corpse of the dead man back to east,
they where in the meeting when these same people came and open fire to them killing more than ten people.

Babajide Kolade-Otitoju always say it on Journalist Hangout that "BH are still collecting taxes in some certain communities" but trust Nigerian govt to always deny it.

BOKO HARAM, their sponsors, the government in power that made this Boko boys so popular in our country, all the evil politicians sponsoring these evil terrorists will never ever end well wherever they are.
