President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, has reacted to the resignation of his aide, Mr. Olu Onemola. Igbere TV had earlier reported the resignation of Onemola as Special Assistant on New Media to Lawan. Onemola is an ex-aide to Senator Bukola Saraki, whose reappointment by Lawan had sparked controversy, especially within the circle of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He tendered his resignation letter earlier today saying he would want to be excused from the job because of the controversy it has generated. Reacting to the development, Dr. Ahmad Lawan said he has accepted the resignation of Onemola as his aide on New Media. This was contained in a tweet on the official handle of the Senate President [@SPNigeria] on Sunday. “Olu Onemola, the Special Assistant to the President of the Senate has resigned his appointment. “The resignation is contained in a letter he addressed to the Senate President. “In the letter, Onemola thanked Lawan for the offer to continue to serve and promote the work of the 9th Senate, “which I'm sure is borne out your patriotic desire to serve the Nigerian people.” “The President of the Senate has since approved the resignation and wished Onemola all the best in his future endeavors,” the tweet read. http://igberetvnews.com/791267/breaking-lawans-aide-steps-down-for-being-linked-to-saraki/

His appointment sparked outrage from Nigerians who are more concerned with party affiliations ,than the progress of Nigeria . The man was the PA to Saraki , and Lawan still chose him , that shows he is super good. But some foolish Nigerians who aren't gaining a penny from the APC govt , were canvassing for his sack , to them it's better for Musa from Kastina who has an empty brain to be the PA , as long as he is from the APC. Good. As much as i believe that the most experienced should always be considered first, the SP made a big mistake to have retained a PDP guy that has been a critic of the APC. APC is just the definition of a bitter and hateful party Reason why Nigeria is still like this Why frustrate him to the point of resignation...I believe Mr Lawan appointed him based on merit because he was fit for the job When will we begin to hand the affairs of this nation to people based on merit instead of my person my person that has zero knowledge it?? When last was the minister of health of Nigeria a graduate of medical science...but instead they will appoint an unintelligent person who has zero knowledge of the said ministry, based on my party,y party levels Sad thing is they have used the "you can't work for MTN and expect salary from glo" as a stupid cover for their stupidity This is Nigeria...IT IS FOR ALL OF US the hunger in the land is not limited to any region the unemployment in the land is not limited to any region When una go geh sense laidis??
