The Nigeria High Commission in London, has now decided to mail passports to applicants after a Nigerian man destroyed cars at the embassy. 

Recall that a 32-year-old Nigerian, Mr. Ewohime Apkovweta, caused thousands of pounds worth of damages to diplomatic cars at the Nigerian High Commission in London. According to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Apkovweta had approached the  High Commission to collect his passport at 2pm but was told the collection of passports closed at 1pm. He, however, insisted on collecting the passport and the officials requested his collection slip which he could not produce. The Commission said, “He left agitated and returned from a nearby hotel to destroy about seven cars, some belonging to the mission, and some to guests who parked nearby.”

A notice on the website of the Nigeria High Commission in London, confirmed that they will now mail passports to applicants. It reads;

This is what should have been consider long time ago, and should also extend to applicants in Nigeria too.

Its a welcome development to curb unnecessary aggresive display and save us from international enbarrasment.

.i don't support craze but if the dude hadn't pulled the craze no1 would av cared.

Abi they are avoiding futher craze by keeping the applicants at arms length.

Instead of you to think of better ways to improve your service you're instead thinking of ways to escape the repercussion of your ineptitude.

This is just like the Ostrich that hides its head in a hole in a bid to avoid a challenge.

This will cause untold frustration, before you will receive your passport, you will need to pray and fast

not in Nigeria.

A backward nation, other countries don't visit embassies or consular for renewal of passports. Even, common Ghana you will do everything online and they will mail it to you@ the comfort of your house. I don't know why we are like this in Nigeria. Imagine, you have to travel to the consular in any of Atlanta, New York and Washington to renew your passport. It is high level craziness.

Their brain as opened... Nigerian government officials are reactive to every situation never proactive

Nigerian commissions in other countries can also be proactive and apply this in their mode of operation if applicable

So it took the action of a crazy dude for them to change dia policy
