Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is currently in Dubai with some of his associates.

Timi Frank, a former deputy spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is among those with Atiku.

Reno Omokri, a former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, tweeted pictures of Atiku’s visit to the oil-rich city.

I find it very disheartening and a great disservice that these rogues who at one time or another played a role in draining the nation's treasury have the audacity to jet off to countries like UAE for R & R [Rest & Relaxation]. The leaders of this once considered a third world country had painstakingly built their economy and infrastructure to become the envy of the world. They had a vision and love for their country and see themselves as serving their country, unlike their Nigerian counterparts. Nigerian leaders misunderstand the purpose of public service. They don't see it as an opportunity to serve their country but as a means to become rich and accumulate as much wealth as humanly possible. The sad thing about this nonchalant attitude towards serving the people is that citizens are left to suffer and die in the country while they and their families, travel out to rejuvenate themselves when the pressures of life and living get too much.
