The Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), High Chief Peter Ameh, says the council is proposing a dual transmission process for election results. He said while INEC was perfecting plans to go fully electronic, “we still retain our old collation method from PU’s, ward, LGA, state and federal levels to serve as fall back plan.”

He said political parties must constantly step up on their vital intermediate role between citizens and the state, represent citizens’ interest and translate these into a policy that responds to citizens’ concerns. “We believe INEC needs support as it is presently spread too thin. If the commission is allowed to concentrate solely on elections as its name suggests, it would serve Nigerians more efficiently,” he said.
