Fellow nairalanders, for the past one week, my golf MK4 have been leaking gear oil and all efforts by the mechanic to correct it is not working.

I met a mechanic that told me that they will have to drop the gearbox and change gearbox pump.

I'm confused right now, have anyone experienced this type of problem and what was the solution

Check maybe the shaft probably pulled and hit the gear box leading to the leakage... you have to remove your Tyre and check to see the extent of the leakage thats if it is automatic gear

Stop driving it till you get the leakage fixed.

Why do you still drive it when the gearbox oil is leaking?

I only test drive it after each fix, I still park immediately I notice the leak again

Change d gear shaft it will stop...

Hello sir, I would advise you don't use the road sides mechanics anymore.. please and please go to the professionals ... They will diagnose / scan ur vehicle first for free and tell u what and what is needed to be done ... I promise u , u will never complain of this and certainly thank me later... Please visit GOF AUTOS... They are specialist and very very cheap.. office is at ikeja. Google their address.. when u get their , ask of Mr Richard.

419 people ..some road side mechanics are better than them by far...this so called professional will tear ur pocket with lie n deceit.
